Wednesday Medley: Cookies!

NATIONAL OREO COOKIE DAY

Be ready to observe by having your glass of milk handy as it is National Oreo Cookie Day.  This day is recognized across the nation each year on March 6th.

The Oreo sandwich cookie is made up of two chocolate disks containing a sweet cream filling and is loved by millions.  Since it’s introduction, the Oreo cookie has become the best-selling cookie in the United States.

The National Biscuit Company (today known as Nabisco) first developed and produced the “Oreo Biscuit” in 1912 at its Chelsea factory in New York City. Today, the block on which the factory was located is known as “Oreo Way”.

  • The name “Oreo” was first trademarked on March 14, 1912.
  • The first Oreo cookies in the United States sold for 25 cents a pound in clear glass topped novelty cans.
  • In 1912, the Oreo Biscuit was renamed to “Oreo Sandwich”.
  • In 1948, the Oreo Sandwich was renamed to “Oreo Creme Sandwich”.
  • William A. Turnier developed the modern-day Oreo design in 1952 to include the Nabisco logo.
  • Nabisco’s principal food scientist, Sam Porcello, developed the modern Oreo cookie filling.

HOW TO OBSERVE

Grab a glass of milk and a handful of Oreos to enjoy and use #NationalOreoCookieDay to post on social media.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

1.  Are you able to pass by a plate of cookies and not take one or are you a bit of a 'Cookie Monster'?  I can pass by any cookie in the world....except Nestle Toll House Cookies. Talk about my kryptonite!

2.  Tell us about your favorite cookie. Have your tastes changed since you were a kid?  Well, I just told you it's Nestle Toll House Cookies and it always has been. Best cookies ever.

3.  Enquiring minds want to know if you are a dunker and, if so, do you dunk in milk, coffee, or tea?  Nope, not a dunker. I don't like soggy cookies and I don't like crumbs in my drink.

4.  It is that time of year and they are selling them on every corner and in front of every store!  Do you buy Girl Scout cookies and if you do, which is your favorite?  I feel bad for the girls, but I don't buy the cookies these days. For one thing the price kills me. They are ridiculously expensive. For another thing, I don't support some of the things they GS's are aligned with. That said, Samoas are my favorite.

5.  Raw cookie dough.  Yay or Nay?  It's not good for you...raw eggs and all that...but Yay!

6.  Please tell us something random about your week!!  Tim and I are both off this coming Saturday. We are going to work on the bathroom remodel (that's been a work in progress for over 2 years!), he's going to get his blood work done for the rheumatologist (finally!), and I am finally going to the eye doctor's (I've been wearing an old pair of glasses and the world has been getting fuzzier and fuzzier).
Well, that was fun, but now I'm in the mood for some Toll House cookies. I'm linking up with Terri @ Your Friend From Florida today. Drop over and say hi and join in the fun.

Saying Farewell to the Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's a happy day...the Wednesday Hodgepodge is back!...and a sad day...it's the last one. Joyce has decided not to continue. After 9 years, that's understandable. It's tough to come up with interesting questions week after week and visiting all the blogs playing along is time consuming. I wish you well, Joyce, in wherever the future takes you and your blog.

1. What has been the highlight of your summer so far? (It's still summer people!

I know it is still summer, but the season of pumpkin spice EVERYTHING has begun...a fact I'm torturing a girl at work with! But back to summer. The highlight of my summer was definitely having my daughter and her family buy the house next door to us and getting to spend so much time with this guy, who isn't feeling very well at the moment.

2. What do you wish you'd done more of this summer? Less of?

I always wish I had gotten to go more places. This year was another year of staying home because of my husband's work and babysitting. I also always wish I had spent less time on the same thing...social media, be it the blog, Facebook, or whatever.

3. Something you're looking forward to on your September calendar?

I'm already doing it. I'm at my new job and loving it. I can't think of anything else because I don't really know what my work schedule will end up being at this point so I haven't planned anything.

4. Best/favorite book you've read this summer?

Mississippi Blood by Greg Iles

5. Share something positive, encouraging, or uplifting here.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Truth. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. I never cease to be in awe of how He does exactly the right thing at exactly the right time. It may not always feel that way at the time, but a bit of time and distance shows His wisdom far surpasses mine. God is exactly who He says He is. He can and does do exactly what He says He can and will do. He is the same today as He was yesterday and the same as He will be tomorrow.

Now I'm off to work. Have a blessed day, friends! And God bless, Joyce. Thanks for all the years of fun!

A Hodgepodge Goodbye

1. I feel most energized when I _______________________.

Am well rested and getting lots of things done. Well rested, unfortunately, doesn't happen all that often. My sleep patterns resemble those of a toddler with ADHD on sugar overload.

2. Where were you ten years ago?

Getting ready for our son's wedding that would take place in early August. Both physically and mentally...we weren't ready to wrap our minds around having a kid old enough to get married. It was a beautiful day, though, and the Roaring '20s theme they chose was a lot of fun.

The last photo of us as a family of four.

3. July 17th is World Emoji Day. Do you use emojis? Which one's your favorite? Your most used?

I use emojis in my Facebook comments and once in a while in a text message. I don't know that I have a favorite, but I probably use the laughing ones the most....the heart is a close second.

4. What song would you put on a wedding DO NOT PLAY list?

I'm from southwestern Pennsylvania, land of of the firehall wedding, the cookie table, and polkas. Wedding receptions around here big deals. Really big deals. We polka, we do the chicken dance, the Electric Slide, the Macarena, and everything else that comes along (the Curly Shuffle was big when I got married). Most receptions have all kinds of music from polkas, to big band, to rock, to country. Sometimes there's a live band (not so common in this digital age), but most of the time there's a DJ and with WiFi they can fulfill any music request. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't think I'd put anything on the "DO NOT PLAY" list unless it was something with explicit, hateful, or violent content.

Doing the Chicken Dance at our daughter's wedding.

5. What deserves less of your attention? More of your attention?

Less attention? That's easy...Facebook and online games. More attention? Bible study, my blog (actual writing rather than just memes), and the house.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

Question 5 was well timed. I'm looking forward to a productive day sorting through things, paring down some of the clutter, and setting things aside for the garage sale our daughter wants to have at the end of this month. I'm going to rearrange the living room, too, and maybe even bake something for dessert tonight. We don't usually eat dessert and it's been ages since I've baked. Tim will probably be shocked if I do.

That's it for this week and for the summer. Joyce is
taking the rest of the summer off...and maybe forever.
She's promised one more Wednesday Hodgepodge in
September and will decide then if she will continue or not.
Whatever she decides, we can all send a big thank you
for several years of Hodgepodge fun.

Enjoy your break, Joyce!
We'll see you in September.

Blueberry Hodgepodge

1. What's something in your house you'd like to get rid of but can't?  The sofa. The scale is really not right for the living room and it's been well used so it's gotten squishy and it's just not comfortable....except to my husband. He has a lot of trouble sleeping and most nights ends up moving to the sofa and sleeping there. He refuses to allow me to get rid of it.

2. When is the last time you experienced a sense of nostalgia? Elaborate.  At bible study this week we ended up talking about the order of things in a Christian household, which got us sharing stories about raising our kids.

3. You're only allowed three apps on your smart phone or tablet...which three do you keep?  The Weather Channel, Facebook, and a game called Wordscapes.

4. July 11th is National Blueberry Muffin Day. Who knew? Do you like blueberry muffins? If you were going to have a muffin would blueberry be your choice? What's the last thing you baked?  I do. I like most things with blueberries and it's a good thing since my stepdad has a very prolific patch of blueberry bushes. In fact, I'm going to pick some today. I don't know when I last baked. It's been a while as I don't like to have something like that sitting in the house for just the two of us. I will be making a couple loaves of zucchini/pineapple/blueberry bread, though.

Zucchini Bread
3 eggs. 3 cups flour
2 cups sugar. 1 tsp. Baking soda
1 cup oil. 1 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Vanilla. 1 tsp. Baking soda
1 cup drained, crushed pineapple
2 cups grated zucchini
1-2 cups blueberries (to your liking)
Mix all ingredients.
Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Makes 2 loaves. Freezes well also.

5. What's the biggest way you've changed since you were a child? In what way are you still the same?  My dad was pretty controlling and strict when I was growing up. I NEVER talked back and I just silently took anything anyone said or did to avoid confrontation. That's no longer who I am. I'm kind about it, but I do speak up. As for staying the same, I'd say that it's that I've stayed pretty trusting of others.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I've been limping around with a painful ankle for about a week and a half. I already had an appointment with my pc scheduled for this Thursday so I figured I'd just ask him about it then and go from there. One of the men in my bible study group is a podiatrist and he took a quick look and said it's probably tendonitis. His advice? Wear supportive shoes, wear an ankle brace, take ibuprofen, ice it and if it gets worse or doesn't get better come see him. I've been doing all of that so I'll see what my pc has to see. If he tells me to see a specialist, I've already got one lined up. Man, this getting older is not for sissies!

Freedom in the Wednesday Hodgepodge

Good morning! It's a rainy one here in southwestern Pennsylvania and I'm not the least bit upset about it. Our daughter and her husband finally closed on their house Monday evening and have been moving in ever since. We've all been in a kind of limbo as they had to give up their apartment back on the first of the month. Chaotic and crazy describe the last few weeks pretty well. I'm looking forward to life getting back to normal and hibernating alone on a rainy day is sounding like a great way to celebrate!

1. Security or freedom? Can you have both? Explain.  If I had to choose, I'd probably pick security, though I think that comes from really not having experienced any loss of freedom (other than grounding as a kid). However, I think we are blessed in this country that it is possible to have both and is the reality for most of us. I also find that my security and freedom are both based on my faith in God. In Him I can feel safe and free no matter what my circumstances.

2. If you could visit any historical American site what would it be? Why?  I really want to visit Plymouth Settlement, because my family can trace its roots back to John and Priscilla Alden. I know it's not popular to think well of the Pilgrims these days, but I am very proud to have some of their DNA.

3. Free as a bird, free reign, be free of, free enterprise, free trip, walk away scot free, free for all...which 'free' phrase can best be applied to your life in recent days or weeks? Explain. Hmm...not sure that any of them really do, but I'll stretch a bit and say "free as a bird" as I think it describes what our grandsons feel when they go sailing into the air on the swings. Neither of them can get enough of it.

4. Something in your frig that's red? Strawberries, tomatoes, radishes. Something in your house that's white? The kitchen island. Something in your view that's blue? The light on the cable box.

5. July 27th is National New Jersey Day. Have you ever visited The Garden State? Just to drive through. If so where did you go? Nowhere. Are there diners where you live? Oh yes, plenty of them. Have you tried Taylor Pork Roll? Never heard of it. Do you like to play Monopoly? I HATE to play Monopoly. Salt water taffy-yay or nay? It's okay, but I never choose it on my own. How do you feel about shopping at the mall? It's a pretty peaceful experience these days since not too many people ever seem to be there. Springsteen, Sinatra, or Bon Jovi-you have to pick one. Bon Jovi all the way!

Raise your hand if you know why these add-on questions are appropriate on National NJ Day.  I'm doing a half-hearted, noncommittal kind of hand raise over here. I think I know for most of them but the other one or two...I'm just guessing it's the same reason.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I'm about to begin the process of finding a church to attend. Oh, how I hate the process. The internet helps some in that I can check out what a church believes before visiting and weed out any that don't mesh, but you still just can't tell about a church until you visit and experience it for yourself. We've gone through two extremely nasty church situations that have left us with a bad taste in our mouths when it comes to organized religion (which I tend to view as dominated by the traditions and doctrines of men). Still, I know there are good churches out there, that teach sound doctrine, not the fluffy, feel-good, tickle-your-ears kind of stuff that seems to dominate the mainstream and I hope to find one of them. I have a good and growing relationship with the Lord and belong to a home fellowship so I'm doing okay as is, but I do miss music and worship as well as more opportunities to serve the community. So, I will pray and look. I have a couple on the list to start with.

Up on a Roof with the Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Summer is upon us this week in the Northern hemisphere. Tell us three things on your summer bucket list.

  • Take our youngest grandson to the zoo.
  • Take all of our grandkids to the 4th of July parade.
  • Hopefully get out of town for at least a long weekend.

2. Something fun you used to do as a kid in the summertime?

Everything! I remember summer as this amazing, sun-kissed time of possibilities and freedom. I was out the door right after breakfast to meet up with my friends and didn't come back inside until supper...and it was back outside right after that. I don't remember ever being bored.

We had amazing imaginations that took us through a never-ending string of adventures. We rode our bikes for miles and miles, gathered all the kids in the neighborhood for games of kickball, wiffleball, tag, and hide-n-seek. On a really good day we could talk somebody's mom into taking us to the beach at the local state park (nobody had swimming pools back then). We were always doing something. I even enjoyed the time spent in my dad's big garden every evening right after supper. I knew my friends would be waiting as soon as I was done.

The highlight of the summer was always the 4th of July celebration in my neighborhood. We had a neighborhood picnic that lasted all day (and the family who hosted it each year DID have a pool!) and ended late at night with us kids splayed out on blankets and the adults settled into lawn chairs to watch the town's fireworks. It was almost better than Christmas.

3. Rooftop or backyard? Why? Are we talking about for picnicking, entertaining, and relaxing? Then I'm going with the backyard. My roof is not made for any of that.

4. Do you read food labels? Place importance on them? Make an effort to find out/care about where your food comes from?  Sometimes. I look at calories, carbs, fat, and sodium.

5. A song you'll have on repeat this summer?  All Summer Long by Kid Rock. Best summer song ever.

6. Inse
rt your own random thought here. Today is my husband's knee surgery so we will be heading out in a few minutes. Say a prayer for us. He's a horrible patient and he thinks he's going back to work tomorrow. I'll catch up with everyone later today.

Splurging on the Wednesday Hodgepodge

Good morning! I'll be heading out soon for a girls' day with a friend, but I wanted to link up to the Wednesday Hodgepodge before I leave.  Whatever your plans for the day are, I hope you are blessed by them!

1. What happens to the mail at your house?  When it first comes in the house it gets tossed on the kitchen island, then depending on the degree of organization happening each day, it either gets read and sent to the trash or bill file...or as is too often the case around here, it languishes for a couple of days on the island before I deal with it.

2. Something you always splurge on? Any guilt associated with the splurge?  If you've been around here long enough, you know the answer is books. I will always splurge on books. Guilt? Not usually unless I visit Barnes & Noble and buy a bag full. Most of my book purchases are either one at a time online at on sale prices or at used book sales, yard sales, etc.

3. There are many, but what are two important questions you think every bride and groom should ask/answer before they plan their walk down the aisle?  1. They should definitely discuss their financial goals and how they intend to handle money.  2.  They should discuss how they intend to keep their marriage relationship a priority and formulate a plan.  3. I know you only asked for two points, but if they are Christians, they'd better discuss that and make sure they are on the same page about what that means to them and their marriage, future family, etc.  To me, that's the biggest thing that should get talked out, but not all couples getting married are practicing Christians so obviously it wouldn't be a big point for them.

4. What's the best advice your father ever gave you?  It's a toss up.  It's either "If something is worth doing, it's worth doing well." Or "If you don't have something nice to say about someone, don't say anything at all."  Cliche, but most cliches become cliches because they are excellent bits of wisdom that bear being repeated.  And those two bits have served me well...at least when I've heeded them. I hate to admit that wasn't always the case.

5. Your favorite movie where a father features heavily in the storyline?  John Candy's hilarious old movie, The Great Outdoors, is a favorite around here and has been since the kids were little. We also like RV with Robin Williams.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I'm not really having any "big" random thoughts this morning so here are a few small ones.

  • Part of today's outing is getting another Deva Curl cut. I haven't had one since December. I'm thinking of going a lot shorter. I haven't totally decided about that or a hairstyle.
  • The kids are totally moved out of their apartment and staying in my mom's house until they close on theirs. Closing is still set for the 18th.
  • My hubby is getting his knee operated on next Wednesday.
  • The Navajo people are near and dear to my heart. It's been a long time, but I went on two mission trips to the Navajo reservation and the people just touched my heart in a special way.  So, I was very excited to learn that Beth Moore and Living Proof Ministries visited the native peoples last year in Chinle, AZ and plan to go back again this October. Many Native Americans struggle financially, but you can provide scholarships for them to attend the conference in October for just $25 per person! Just visit the site to do so.
Well, I had better be off and get myself ready or I will end up being late to meet my friend. Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day, my friend!

An Obsolete Hodgepodge

This morning finds me linking up with Joyce @ From This Side of the Pond for the Wednesday Hodgepodge. Please click the link or the logo above to visit Joyce and find the rules to play along as well as links to the other players.

Here we go!

1.Describe your 30's in one sentence. If you're not yet 30 tell us one thing you hope to accomplish once you hit that particular decade.  It was a decade of great extremes...great joy and great pain.

2. Is it harder for you to exercise or eat healthy?  It's definitely harder to exercise. I have arthritis in my ankles and feet and it's painful to do too much walking any kind of exercise that impacts them.

3. June 7th is National VCR Day. Huh? Anyway this reminded me of something I saw on Facebook listing household items we no longer have and the VCR was on it. I couldn't put my hands on that list, but found another list here of 21 items we all had ten years ago, but which are now obsolete-

bookshelves (WHAT!!???), drip coffee makers, alarm clocks, file cabinets, desktop computers, printers, printed phone books, answering machines, fax machines, paper shredders, a Rolodex, CD racks, CD burners, china cabinets, home phones, entertainment consoles, DVD players, calculators, takeout menus, incandescent light bulbs, and cable TV

Your thoughts? How many on the list do you still have? Still use?  Ha! By that list I'm old and obsolete. I still own and use bookshelves (I have many in the house), alarm clocks, file cabinets, printers, printed phone books, a CD burner (I had my son add it to the laptop), a china cabinet, a home phone, a DVD player, several calculators, takeout menus, incandescent bulbs (in some lights), and cable TV.  My guess is this list was created by people barely out of high school.

4. What's something you see disappearing in the next ten years?  Cameras. Most people just use their phones now and it's hard to get a printed photo of the grandkids...everything is digital and on the computer. In the future families won't have great-grandma's photo albums to look through. That's kind of sad.

5. How did you celebrate your birthday this past year? Is that typical?  I really don't remember. My husband probably took me out to dinner and yes, that's typical for most birthdays. We took a trip on my 50th and that was unusual.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  You don't want my own random thoughts at the moment. Our daughter and her husband are in the process of trying to jump through all the hoops to buy the house next door to us. They are supposed to close on the 18th, but there was some confusing calls from the loan company yesterday and now we are worried it is going to fall through because they deposited cash into their bank account rather than a check. It's all so confusing and frustrating and a little scary at this point, because they have to be moved out of their apartment by tomorrow. Praying they can get some clear answers today and that they are happy answers. Say a prayer for them, please?

Mothering the Wednesday Hodgepodge

Today I'm linking up with Joyce @ From This Side of the Pond and all the other lovely ladies who play the Wednesday Hodgepodge.

1. What are your ingredients for a perfect Saturday?  You know, it really doesn't matter what I'm doing as long as I'm doing it with family or friends.

2. What skill do you wish more people took the time to learn?  Listening. People do a lot of talking, but very little listening to what others have to say.  It takes effort to focus on someone else. It requires eye contact. It requires lowering that cell phone. It requires letting someone know that you value what they are saying. That you value them.

3. What's something you ate as a child you can't stand now as an adult?  I can't think of anything I ate, but I loved Mountain Dew as a child and now the massive amounts of caffeine and sugar give me a nearly instant headache.

4. Something parenting has taught you? If you're not a parent tell us one important lesson you learned from your own parents.  Parenting has taught me that my house will never look like those houses in the magazines and that all of my best laid plans will go through a whole lot of rewrites and I will rarely (if ever) come off looking like I have it all together....and that is okay.

5. Share a favorite quote or saying about mothers or motherhood.  If you have a mom, there is nowhere you are likely to go where a prayer has not already been. ~Robert Brault
6. Insert your own random thought here.  It's that time of year again. The countdown to the last day of school is under way. I have 14 more days to go. I cannot wait. The kids are getting antsy and rather than excited and happy that summer's all most here, they seem to be getting cranky, miserable and ugly with each other. I really cannot wait until May 31.

Hodgepodge To Go

1. What's a word that describes your life? A word you wish described your life?

Mundane or lonely could both be applied to my life a lot of the time.  Mundane because it is usually the same old, same old. My husband works so much and has such long commutes to get to project sites that we rarely make plans to do anything or get together with friends because it is likely when the time comes either he will be too tired or he'll get stuck in traffic and not make it home in time.  That's also why lonely often applies.  When he is home, he spends most of the time sleeping.

I'd like it to be more active, I guess.  More filled with all those things I mentioned above that we don't do.

2. Back in my day we___________________________________?

Never sat around like today's kids do. We played outside all day every day and we were rarely bored. Even the kids who were lucky enough to have an Attari game system only played it a little. It was way more fun to go out and run around with our friends. We worked hard, too. In my family it was the huge garden my dad planted every year that kept me busy. It was a given that during the gardening season I had to help in the garden every night after supper. When that was done I could catch up with my friends again. Plus, many afternoons were spent snapping beans or shelling peas. And my friends, they were the kids in my neighborhood...parents didn't drive kids all over the countryside to play with friends. That didn't happen until we could drive ourselves.

3. When it comes to takeout are you more likely to opt for Italian, Mexican, or Chinese food? Does a typical week at your house include takeout?

We are most likely to get Chinese, unless you count pizza as Italian. I love Mexican, but my hubby isn't a big fan. I'd say we get takeout twice a week during the school year when I am working, too. Less often during the summer.

4. Think about the people you most respect. What is it about them that earned your respect?

Whether or not they have integrity and whether or not I can trust them. Those are the two biggest factors for me.

5. What's something your friends might see and say is 'so you'?

I don't know. Anything to do with books or gardening, I guess.  Anything pumpkin-y. Anything in autumn colors. Anything antique. Maybe something unique because I have a quirky sense of humor.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

So, the story that caught my eye on social media yesterday was that Utah is now the first state to pass a law legalizing "free range" parenting. I had to read up on it to find out what it was.

Free range parenting is parenting that decides a child is old enough or responsible enough to do certain things unsupervised...like walk to school or play in the park, or even stay home alone.  The first thing that popped into my head was "When did it become illegal to allow your child to do such things?"

I don't have an answer to that last question, but it had to have been in the last 15 years or less.  Going back up to question #2, back in my day ALL the parents would have ended up in jail if it was illegal to run around unsupervised. We ran all over the neighborhood all day long. By the time we were preteens we were allowed to walk or ride our bikes downtown by ourselves. Even when my own kids were growing up, all the neighborhood kids had the freedom to run around the neighborhood all day.

I get that we have to protect the kids who are born to common senseless/uneducated/drug addicted parents, but thankfully, most parents don't fall into those categories so why did we start taking parenting away from the parents?

Thanks for visiting me today! I've linked up
for the Wednesday Hodgepodge.

Springing Into the Wednesday Hodgepodge

On a 2-hour delay this morning thanks to the snow (will it become a full-blown snow day?), so....I have time to link up with Joyce @ From This Side of the Pond for the Wednesday Hodgepodge. Visit Joyce to play along and find links to others playing.

1. On this first official day of spring tell us something (besides the weather) you're looking forward to in this season of the year. Easter and the whole family getting together. It will be fun to have the 3 grands together now that the littlest guy is on his feet and running.

2. When it comes to spring cleaning would you rather wash windows or wash baseboards? Windows. Clean out closets or clean out the garage? Closets. Dust ceiling fans or dust bookcases? Bookcases. Wipe down the patio furniture outside or wipe down the light fixtures inside?  Patio furniture. Any job that means warm weather is here is a good job. Any of these tasks recently completed? Nope. Spring hasn't actually made an appearance here yet, so spring cleaning isn't on the list of things to do yet.

3. Your favorite thing to make/eat that calls for cream cheese? Strawberry pretzel "salad." Sour cream? Corn spoonbread. Whipped cream?  Jell-o dream pie.

4. I read here a list of commonly mispronounced words. What is a word that gives you trouble when it comes to pronunciation?  Hmm...according to this list I pronounce at least half of them wrong. Aside from the list, I can never get Worcestershire sauce right.

5. What's a song you love with the word 'rain' in the title or lyrics?  November Rain by Guns N' Roses.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.  No real thoughts here. I'm on a 2-hour delay after having to drive in pretty bad weather yesterday. With today's forecast for all-day snow, I'm hoping the call comes through for a snow day. However, while I wait I need to get going and get dressed just in case I have to go. Be safe and warm wherever you are!
