1. What are your ingredients for a perfect Saturday? You know, it really doesn't matter what I'm doing as long as I'm doing it with family or friends.
3. What's something you ate as a child you can't stand now as an adult? I can't think of anything I ate, but I loved Mountain Dew as a child and now the massive amounts of caffeine and sugar give me a nearly instant headache.
4. Something parenting has taught you? If you're not a parent tell us one important lesson you learned from your own parents. Parenting has taught me that my house will never look like those houses in the magazines and that all of my best laid plans will go through a whole lot of rewrites and I will rarely (if ever) come off looking like I have it all together....and that is okay.
5. Share a favorite quote or saying about mothers or motherhood. If you have a mom, there is nowhere you are likely to go where a prayer has not already been. ~Robert Brault
6. Insert your own random thought here. It's that time of year again. The countdown to the last day of school is under way. I have 14 more days to go. I cannot wait. The kids are getting antsy and rather than excited and happy that summer's all most here, they seem to be getting cranky, miserable and ugly with each other. I really cannot wait until May 31.
So true about your house! I clean and clean and as soon as my kids inhabit a space, it's a mess.
ReplyDeleteIt is a redundant task.
DeleteLove your quote for #5. I bet there is a lot of truth in that. We are nearly to the end of school. Next week is STAAR test which my son has a couple of those to take.
ReplyDeleteI hope it is. I imagine every mom prays in some way.
DeleteGreat choice for #2 ... what an under-appreciated virtue! Robert Brault is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I saw the quote a while ago, but have no idea who Robert Brault is.
DeleteIt's the same at my house! lol The way you feel about last day of school, I feel when it's the last day before vacation!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day
It's torture, isn't it?!
DeleteI haven't had Mountain Dew in years. I drank a lot of it in grad school because the caffeine was crazy. I remember it was sooo sweet, and I don't like overly sweet drinks now. I live in the land of sweet tea, but always mix mine with unsweetened. Happy Mother's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of sweet tea, either. My husband, on the other hand, loves it and we're not even southern.
DeleteI have never liked Mt. Dew, but I really don't like any carbonated beverage. I enjoyed your answers, Stacy, because they are different from most of us, at least on #1 and #2. Wishing you a happy Mother's Day!
