Saturday 9: Waiting All Day for Sunday Night

Linking up with Sam and the gang for the Saturday 9. Feel free to visit and join in the fun.

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This week's Saturday 9 has a football theme because there's a big game Sunday. Will you be watching?  Yeah, but only for the commercials. If the Steelers aren't in it (and they aren't) I don't really care who wins.

2) The Super Bowl is a big day for food consumption in the US, second only to Thanksgiving. What's on your menu this weekend?  Nothing special because I have to work on Sunday and Tim won't watch the game. He doesn't care about football at all.

3) The NFL has decreed that the Super Bowl will never be played in a city that has a median February temperature of less than 50º. Would your hometown qualify for the Big Game?  Nope.

4) This version of the NFL theme song mentions the Steelers and the Broncos. During the regular season, which team do you root for? How did they do in 2019?  If you cut me, do I not bleed black and gold? The Steelers, I root for the Steelers. Always. They didn't have a great year...way too many injuries.

5) This version of the Sunday Night Football song is by Faith Hill. She also has ties to the MLB, since her husband is Tim McGraw, son of the Mets' pitcher Tug McGraw. Which sport do you prefer -- baseball or football?  Football.

6) Faith has performed live at more than one The Super Bowl in the past, performing both "America, the Beautiful" and "The Star Spangled Banner." What's your favorite patriotic song?

  7) She has a perfume line with Coty that was a big seller at CVS during Christmas 2018. What's the last item you bought at a drugstore?  I was just at CVS yesterday. I picked up a prescription for my granddaughter and a pack of barrettes.

8) Faith Hill is the producer of a talk show on CMT called Pickler and Ben. Is the TV on as you answer these questions? If so, what are you watching?  Yes. I'm watching Storage Wars.

9) Random question: You've got a chip in your hand and three dips to choose from -- guacamole, salsa, and onion. Where does your chip get dipped?  What kind of chip is it? If it's a nacho/tortilla chip it's going in the salsa, but if it's a potato chip it's going in the onion dip. Nothing is going in the guacamole. The guacamole is going in the disposal.

  1. #9 -- Obviously you imagine yourself at home. If you were a guest, you wouldn't throw your host's guacamole down the disposal. I pictured myself at a party because I had a friend who was crazy proud of his guacamole recipe.

    1. Yes, I was just thinking of at home. I've tried guacamole several times...I just don't like it. Actually, at home it wouldn't even be there.

  6. I feel the same about guacamole.
I have had so many years where I am only invested in the commercials or halftime. I am super excited to be invested in the game as well. I have decided potty breaks I will take my phone and watch on there. Crazy! Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

    1. Oh, that's funny...taking your phone to the potty! My team has been there quite a few times and thankfully won most of those times. I'd probably be as excited as you if they were going for the first time. Enjoy the game and I'll root for your guys.

    1. There is supposed to be a puppy from our area, too. I heard something about it, but not the whole story. He's one of the rescue pups.

  8. I don't crave guacamole but will eat it. It is not something I buy unless it is for a party. I agree about the kind of chips depends on the kind of dip!

  9. I did not know it was possible to dislike guacamole! But then I'm from Texas and I was sort of weaned on guac. I love it, but I think it probably would make a good face mask, too!
