Sunday Stealing: Another Food Meme

I'm linking up with Bev and the thieves at Sunday Stealing today, but I have to tell you...you're killing me, Bev! All this thinking about food is not good for my resolve to eat healthier.

Food meme Stolen from Book Mama, who stole it from Jenefur.

Thanks to The Gal Herself for the suggestion!

How do you like your eggs?  I like them "dippy." That's a southwestern PA term...kinda like instead of slippery, we say "slippy." Anyway, I like them that way if the person doing the cooking can leave the yolk dippy while not also leaving runny whites.

How do you take your coffee/tea:  I don't take coffee at all. I like my tea with some Truvia in it, especially if it's French vanilla Truvia.

Favorite breakfast foods:  Most of the time I eat last night's leftovers, but if I don't I'll usually have maple/brown sugar oatmeal and a low-fat yogurt. Once in a while eggs and toast will make the cut.

Peanut butter: smooth or crunchy?  Smooth. I like the taste of nuts, but have issues with the texture of nuts. I just can't eat them.

What kind of dressing on your salad?  Either Catalina or Sweet 'n Sour.

Coke or Pepsi?  Coke. Diet Coke. Another thing I need to learn to give up. You know they think there's a link between artificial sweeteners and Alzheimers and dementia?

You feel like cooking. What do you make?  It's hard to say. I like to cook and I cook all kinds of things. I like to experiment and try new things.

You’re feeling lazy. What do you make?  I call for Chinese take-out.

You’re feeling really lazy. What kind of pizza do you order?
Extra thin crust with mushrooms and green peppers.

Is there a food you refuse to eat?
Sushi, liver, eggplant, raw oysters, canned peas.

Favorite fruit & vegetable:
  Pineapple and green beans.

Favorite junk food:
Potato chips. Just about any kind. I am all about the salty carbs.

Favorite between meal snack:  Chips.

Do you have any weird food habits:  I put sugar on tomatoes and cottage cheese and I like to fry my green beans in a little olive oil and garlic until they are browned. So...not really.

You’re on a diet. What food(s) do you fill up on?
Veggies, veggies, more veggies, low-fat yogurt, eggs, and lean meat.

How spicy do you order Indian/Thai?  I've only had Indian/Thai food a few times in my life and it wasn't really a favorite, but when it comes to spice I'm a middle of the road kind of girl. I like some heat, but not enough to blister my tongue and cause stomach ulcers.

The perfect nightcap?  Just a glass of wine.

  1. I’m adding raw oysters to my list. Anything you slurp can’t be good. But I do love Oysters Rockefeller. Not all sushi is raw. See my comment on Lori’s blog. Sugar on tomatoes?

    1. I like oysters cooked and as for sushi...I've tried several kinds and haven't liked any of it so I'm done trying it. Sugar on tomatoes is great! It cuts the acid. I also put just a bit in my spaghetti sauce.

  2. I had stomach problems for so long that were linked to my gallbladder and was not able to try Indian food. I had a co-worker that would bring it every now and then and it smelled so good! I just can't bring myself to try it even though my gall bladder is gone.
I love pineapple and green beans too.
This would have been a great opportunity to tell my creamed corn story. Dang it. I will tell it one of these days. That is another thing I will NOT eat. Loved your answers! Have a great day!

    1. Spicy stuff never bothered my gallbladder, it was strictly the fatty, fried stuff (one of my favorite food groups, lol). Now I am curious...you have to tell us the creamed corn story.

  3. Ah, oysters are an acquired taste. I won't eat them from the can, but I love them fresh. But you have to know what you're eating and where they come from.

    1. I've watched my husband eat them fresh plucked from the bay, but...ew! I will eat them cooked, though.

  4. I forgot oysters too. Walt took me to an oyster restaurant once and I had them about 5 different ways and hated all of them.

I wish I liked vegetables, but I'm not a fan. If I lived alone, I would never think about cooking vegetables.

    1. I will eat cooked oysters, though they still aren't a favorite. I love veggies, but I know several people who don't and rarely, if ever, eat them so you have lots of company.

  5. We grew our own vegetables when I was a child. My dad would put sugar on tomatoes!
But "slippy" eggs...not for me. They must be well well well done, just like my steak.
Now you've made me hungry for Chinese take-out.

    1. My dad always had a huge garden, too. I love veggies! I don't mind well done eggs, but man, that just ruins a good steak! ;)

  6. We're not terribly fond of green beans -- but your method sounds really good! Garlic makes everything better! Think I'm going to start calling my eggs 'dippy' -- that's adorable!

    1. The beans are good. My daughter hates veggies, but eats those like crazy. Yeah, dippy, slippy...all part of that famous Pittsburgh dialect.

    1. That would be better than my current thinking about being what you eat...that means I'm fast, cheap, and easy! Ha!

  8. This was FUN!! I like salty, too! And the wine at night!

  9. Dippy eggs--my Pennsylvania nephew and niece taught me that expression. :)

    1. Did they teach you to watch your step in the winter because the sidewalk gets slippy?

  10. Interesting answers. I like potato chips too. I think I am a potato chip addict. ;-) I really have to watch myself around them, or I'll eat the entire bag. After all, no one can eat just one, right!? Have a good day and enjoy the superbowl.

    1. Depending on what kind of chips, I'm probably and addict, too. *sigh*

  11. Wow, I wish I lived somewhere with Chinese take-out. That would be great. We are just barely on the edge of the pizza delivery route as it is.

    1. It's great, but we also probably call more often than we should because we both love it.

  12. I grew up eating sugar on tomatoes and cottage cheese so it isn't weird at all!! I still eat them that way! This was fun!

    1. I still eat them that way, too, but I do try to cut back on the sugar. At least on the tomatoes. I can't handle the cottage cheese without a lot of sugar to help it out.
