I did it! I spoke to my boss this morning and this is officially my last week as a full-time employee. After this I will only work 3 days per week...with one or two exceptions or if I pick up extra days. I still have to work every other weekend and probably holidays if they fall on the regular person's day off. I'm good with all that, though, because I will virtually ALWAYS work only in the dementia unit and that gets me out of that nasty work situation. Yay!
I feel like the weight of the world just fell off my back. The only thing that makes me sad is that I won't see the residents outside of dementia very often and there are several of them that I care deeply about and will miss. Ah well, I can't have my cake and eat it, too.
Congratulations, Stacy! I hope this is the beginning of a great new chapter!
