Sunday Stealing: Are We or Aren't We?

I'm feeling a bit of deja vu again this week as Bev has stolen the questions for Sunday Stealing from the Wednesday Medley, but they are older questions and good ones, so here we go! (Thanks, Bev, for finding time even when you are away for the weekend.)

1. All things pumpkin are everywhere. What is your one very favorite pumpkin flavored food or drink?  I love EVERYTHING pumpkin spice flavored. Well, except for pumpkin Pop-Tarts. Those are really gross. Anyway, the Sheetz convenience store chain has an amazing carmel-pumpkin milkshake this year. I am pretty sure it qualifies as a sin. Do you wish it was available all year or do you only want it in the Fall?  Only in the Fall is just fine. If it was available all year round I'd probably end up weighing 500 lbs!

2. What product would you seriously stockpile if you found out they weren't going to sell it anymore?
Toilet paper! And probably diet Coke.

3. What is the most interesting thing you have seen online this week?
This death notice for David William Beautiful Bald Eagle. What a fascinating life he lived.

4. Is it better to be a "big fish in a small pond" or a "small fish in a big pond"?
I'm sure there are merits in both situations, but personally, I don't have any desire to be a big fish.

5. Do you play chess?
No. Are you good at it?  Obviously, not.

6. Tell us something random about your week.
We finally got Tim's truck back from the garage after 3 weeks. There were tons of little things that needed fixed and one big thing. An axle. That was apparently the hold up. Let me tell you, it cost a big chunk of change, but it's fixed and good to go and I have my car back so I guess all is right in my world again.

7. What is your favorite Frank Sinatra song?
I'm not a big Sinatra fan, but I do listen to a lot of him at work because the residents at the home love him. I guess my favorites would be Would You Like to Swing on a Star or Young at Heart.

8. Has your state approved the sale of medical marijuana?  Yes, with a prescription, but the governor and lt. governor are really campaigning to legalize it for recreational use. In a nutshell, what are your thoughts on the subject? If it can be properly regulated I have no problem with its use by those in chronic pain or dealing with a terminal illness who can't get relief any other way. I wonder, though, if CBD products wouldn't do just as much good without the "high"? I know several people who swear CBD products have greatly reduced their pain, symptoms of anxiety, and in one case even reduced the frequency of seizures.

9. Einstein’s Theory of Happiness is: “A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness.”   Was Einstein right?
  I think so.

10. Do you enjoy fresh peaches?
Sure!  What is your favorite way to use them in a recipe?  I love a good peach cobbler or shortcake. But more than anything I love slicing them up in my cereal or on a really good vanilla ice cream.

* I'm answering this on Saturday evening and Bev doesn't seem to have posted the questions to the Sunday Stealing site. I found these on her personal site and there is no place to link up there. I guess if it doesn't turn up tomorrow morning I'll just hunt you all down and see if you found the questions, too.

Have a blessed and amazing Sunday!

  3. I found them, yes. I agree with your comments on my blog about marijuana. I think it is time to stop punishing people for using it. Instead of sending people to jail we need to send them to rehab. It is a very messy question with no one general answer. My husband tried some of the lotion with the CBD or whatever it is in it and it did not help him at all. I have a friend with Parkinson's who finds marijuana helpful but not the CBD stuff. Like other drugs (or supplements), results are going to vary.

  4. Sorry, I disagree with the marijuana, I simply don't want to smell second hand smoke and even the darn folks who vape (I have asthma and can't hand it). However, if it will be legalize than tax the heck out of it, just saying. My mil and her husband use the CBD--I just have strong disagreements over this.

ANYWAYS--UGH on the truck, my SUV is going back into the shop--why? A modelulater computer thingy went. Until I can finish school and get a job, I simply can not afford a new car, sigh.

    1. Oh, don't get me wrong...I wish the whole marijuana thing for recreational use would just GO AWAY and never come back. However, if it helps those in severe chronic pain get some relief or eases the pain at the end of life...with a prescription and medical supervision I can see the benefit. I'm sure as a pain reliever it would be less dangerous than the opioids have proved to be. Sigh. As CountryDew said, a "messy question" and a lot of variables.

  5. I haven't been doing Sunday Stealing for a while now. Like you, the questions are not always posted early enough on Saturday for me to get it done and posted. It is not an easy thing to do, getting questions posted every week - as I found out doing the Medley. Wishing you a good week ahead!

  6. I hadn't seen that death notice, so appreciate your share. Wow, talk about a life well lived! Loved your toilet-paper answer … that's brilliant!

  7. I spent like the first half of my life aware of, but not the least bit interested in, Sinatra. Then, all of a sudden, after a break up, I heard him sing "In the Wee Small Hours" and, BAM! I thought, "He gets it!" It's like this guy knows how I feel! I had great fun discovering him -- decades of music I'd never heard (or if I had, didn't pay attention to) were waiting for me.
