Saturday 9: Miss Me More (2018)
Unfamiliar
with this week's tune? Hear it here.
Chosen because October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Learn more and spread the word that help is available.
1) This song is about a girl who ditched her high heels so she wouldn't be taller than her beau. Tell us about the most recent addition to your footwear wardrobe. Do you need to go shoe shopping? Ha! I went shopping with my daughter and grandkids today and bought myself the most deliciously thick and toasty, fuzzy socks. I'm wearing them right now. Do I need to go shoe shopping? Probably not, but I'm finding that I'm thinking more and more about finding a good, comfortable pair of casual shoes that aren't tennis shoes, clogs, or flip-flops.
2) She sings that she misses the sheets on the bed she made herself. As you answer these questions, is your bed made? I confess, I didn't make the bed today (Friday), because I was having a rough morning thanks to my early-rising dog.
3) This video shows her in a ring. Have you ever worn boxing gloves? I'm sure I've had a pair on once or twice as a kid...just goofing around.
4) This week's featured artist, Kelsea Ballerini, got married on Christmas Day in 2017. That makes their anniversary easy to remember. Are you celebrating any birthdays or anniversaries this month? My son turned 33 on October 2. That's it for our family and October. There's a lot coming up in November including our 35th anniversary.
5) Kelsea has been quoted as saying, "Perfect doesn't exist." She worries that we exhaust ourselves "trying to be something that isn't real." How about you? Do you believe your best is good enough? Or do you strive for perfection? I strive for my best. Life is too short to spend it trying to be something we can't be. And it's a good thing because I'm so far from perfect, trying to get there would kill me.
6) One of Kelsea's tattoos is a square inside of a circle, aka a square peg in a round hole, on her left wrist. She says it's there to remind her that it's OK to "not fit the mold of what normal might be." Tell us about a time where you felt like a square peg in a round hole. All. The. Time.
7) In 2018, when this song was popular, French President Emmanuel Macron lowered fuel taxes. When it's time to fill your tank, do you shop around for the best price? I don't have to. All the stations in town are usually at the same price.
8) Also in 2018, Luxembourg made all public transportation free. When is the last time you rode a bus or train? I couldn't tell you when I last rode a train, but a bus....a year and a half ago on the last day of my school bus driving career.
9) Random question: When did you most recently say, either out loud or to yourself, "I haven't got a thing to wear?" Two weeks ago when I had to drive one of the residents at the home to a surprise party for her son at the local country club. I had to work all day and then stay at the party. I had a tough time deciding what to take to change into after work...that looked good enough for the country club, but was okay for getting a wheelchair into and out of the van.
I have to work tomorrow and kids will be Trick-or-Treating through the home and tomorrow night is Trick-or-Treat in our area so it's going to be another busy (and FUN) day. I'll get around to visit everyone but it might be late. Have a blessed and beautiful Saturday!
And please, if you don't participate in the Saturday 9, but enjoyed the questions, stop by the Saturday 9 site to join in, find links to the others playing, or just to let Crazy Sam know you appreciate all the work she does hosting each week.
I bought a pair of fuzzy socks with the idea I could sort of figure skate around the house like Midori Ito to avoid dust mopping. It doesn't work that way.
ReplyDeleteYour answer to #6 made me sad and made me smile at the same time. I think we're all insecure at times, aren't we? (And thanks for the closing shout out.)
ReplyDeleteI so can agree with #6. I enjoyed your answers, have a great weekend, smiles.
ReplyDeleteYou described the shoe I am looking for.. hope we both find what we want!
ReplyDeleteI was an 80s bride too. But you are a little over a year ahead of me. We will be 34 in February. Congrats on 35. That is quite a milestone these days.
ReplyDeleteI'm always on the lookout for comfy shoes that can take winter wear. Last few years it's been Land's End All-Weather Mocs.
ReplyDeleteMaybe THAT's my problem -- trying to be perfect at my new job. (And failing pretty spectacularly.) Early riser, ugh. My own dogs were doing the happy dance around and over my body at 4:28 this morning. Good thing they're cute.
ReplyDeleteI am celebrating 36 years of marriage in November. Amazing, eh?
ReplyDeleteI love fuzzy socks so much!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time with the trick or treating! I bet that is fun. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.
