I am...

Reading...Debbie Macomber's Cottage by the Sea. I'm just starting it and the set up is so sad. The main character loses her entire family (mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law, and baby niece) in a landslide on Thanksgiving Day. She refused her mother's nagging requests to come home for the holiday saying she'd see everyone at Christmas. Can you imagine the guilt?

Listening to...the local morning news.

Loving...Sheetz's pumpkin-caramel milkshakes. Tim brought me one on Saturday. Oh. My. High calorie. Goodness.

Thinking...I need to buy another bottle of Unisom. It seems they do help me sleep more deeply. Since running out last week I have been plagued by very weird and intense dreams that wake me up.

Feeling...happy, content, and pretty darn good in general.

Celebrating...a good weekend at home. A couple of trips to the store were the only times I went out since I still don't have a car. (My cousin said the last parts for Tim's truck finally came in so it will be finished some time this week.) I spent Saturday getting things done around the house, reading, and watching some Hallmark movies. Yesterday we had Colton all afternoon. (I had mentioned to his mom that I felt like I was losing the closeness he and I had shared since the baby came along. So she made sure I got him and not the baby.) He went to the store with us then he and I watched Ernest Scared Stupid to get into the Halloween spirit. I have created a monster...he LOVED it! He laughed so much watching it and when it was over we spent a good while playing troll and troll hunter. Apparently Nanny does a pretty good job imitating a troll blowing up. He and Tim took one of their long walks around the neighborhood and spent some time doing guy work outside. He went home around supper time with big hugs and "I love you, too's." The last to his mom's chagrin. He won't say it to her yet.

Grateful...this week's schedule is loaded with 12pm-8pm shifts. I'm actually liking that shift more than the 8-4 shift lately. It's loaded this week, though, because my boss hired a new person and I will be training her on the afternoon shift. Once she's trained I should go back to having only 2 late shifts per week.

Weather...extremely foggy this morning, but clearing as the sun comes up and it's to be sunny and beautiful with a high of 72 degrees.

Enjoying...Hallmark movies. I've been watching a lot of their fall movies and reruns of older Christmas movies (the new ones start this Friday). They are a nice respite from all the ugly stuff in the world. I've been reading books with a similar bent, too.

A thought...

** Just thought I'd mention that I've reached a place of relative peace about that difficult situation at work that I wrote about last week. I am still not in agreement with the facility's policy, but I have peace. It's not eating me alive at this point. I spent a lot of time praying, reading the Word, and talking to someone whose wisdom I value and I'm able to take a step back from it...just like anything else that happens there.

  2. Loved hearing about your day with Colton. Kids are very special.
I will miss Hallmark this year unless they stream it online as I can't afford cable TV anymore. Just too expensive for me anymore.

    1. I would give cable up in a heartbeat because I think it costs way too much for all the more we watch. My hubby disagrees. He wants to be able to "surf" the channels and hates having to look for things on Netflix. He doesn't usually watch anything that's actually new, so I don't get the difference, but that's his opinion on it.

  3. Chuckling about Colton's "I love you, too!"
... and wishing there was a video of your troll impersonation. (*smile*)
I'm normally inclined to savory (v. sweet), but that milkshake sounds soooo good!

  5. YAY to new people!! That is awesome to hear! I read that book - it is a tear-jerker!! Prayer is my answer to everything also! I don't have to like things that happen but I just have to accept them. Acceptance does not mean agreement just means I stop clawing at it and fighting it. HUGS

    1. I thought that quote was pretty cool...how little effort it would take to make that big a difference.
