I've decided to table the 10 On Tuesday lists for now. I'm finding that it takes way too much time to find a topic and make a list. Instead I'm going to join in with the Tuesday 4 and Tell Me Something Tuesday.
Tuesday 4
Over & Over Again
1. One movie you'd watch over and over again. Only one? I'd have a hard time narrowing it down from choices like Dirty Dancing, A Christmas Story, While You Were Sleeping, Christmas Vacation, The Great Outdoors, and Home for the Holidays.
2. One book you'd read over and over again. The Holy Bible. Duh. Other than that it would be Little Women.
3. One TV series you'd watch over and over again. The Big Bang Theory. I love to laugh and I can't think of any other show ever that made me laugh so hard or so consistently.
4. One song you'd listen to over and over again. Again, how to choose just one? For a hymn I'd choose How Great Thou Art, for contemporary Christian I'd choose God of All My Days by Casting Crowns, and for other music I'd probably choose Piano Man by Billy Joel.
Tell Me Something Tuesday
Would you spend a full night inside of a haunted house if someone paid you? Well, here's the thing... As a Christian I don't believe in ghosts. The Bible tells us that to be absent from the body is to be present with God and I believe the Bible to be true, which means the souls of the dearly departed aren't hanging around yelling "BOO" in scary old houses. I do believe, however, in a spiritual realm populated by both heavenly and hellish beings.
That said, nothing from heaven is out to terrify us in such a way. That leaves the things of Satan...demons. Those dark things are evil and exist to scare and torment us.
So, as far as I believe, a true "haunted" house is a thing of darkness and evil. I would not put myself in a place to be near them. Why ask for trouble?
It's a rainy morning and I'm off to get ready for work and then I hope I can get to Bible study tonight. (Tim's truck isn't quite done, but should be in the next day or so.) I may have to beg a ride with someone. Y'all have a blessed day!
Dirty Dancing! I could watch this over and over as well!! I have never read Little Women. Have a great Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteYou should give Little Women a shot. It's not usually my kind of book, but there is something about it I just love.
DeleteI love your love of Dirty Dancing. After all, you're the woman who immortalized the watermelon line!
ReplyDeleteAw, shucks....I just carried a watermelon. ;)
DeleteWhite Christmas for the movie for me. Gotta see that every year and have been watching it since I was a child. I love your answer on the haunted house. Very well said!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, White Christmas is on the list for me, too, just not #1. It's not Christmas until I hear Bing sing White Christmas!
DeleteFun Fact... I've never read Little Women!! WHAT??? I can remember seeing in the library when I was little & it was so thick, it scared me :) LOL I need to read that. I also want to read Anne of Green Gables - another one I have never read!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never read Anne of Green Gables. I should correct that. It gets mentioned all the time.
DeleteEnjoyed your answers. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting!
DeleteI'm embarrassed to admit, I've never seen a single episode of Bing Bang Theory. Love your answer about the Haunted House!
ReplyDelete**GASP** We can no longer be friends! Ha! Just kidding. I'm not that easy to get rid of. But seriously, you should watch it. I highly recommend the episode where Sheldon is learning how to drive...or the one where he doesn't sleep for days and ends up in the ball pit of some restaurant in the middle of the night. Those two make me laugh so hard I can't breathe!
DeleteHow fun was this? I have spend a few delightful minutes reading some of your past posts. You are such a dear fun lady! Glad we are Blog Buddies and I look forward to getting to know you better.....
ReplyDeleteAww...what a sweet comment! Thank you for visiting and becoming a new friend. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better, too. :)
DeleteAgree with your haunted house answer, very good.
ReplyDeleteDirty Dancing is the movie I have seen the most in my life! When it came out, my friend Suzette and I saw it at the theatre about 20 times, and I've watched it on my own and with my daughter many times since then. Now, I think the movie I can't get enough of is "Casablanca." I love it and must watch it a few times a year.
ReplyDeleteLittle Women is my all-time favorite novel.
And, TV...well I am high on the Blacklist right now. I binged the first 6 seasons in about 2 months this past winter. And now that the new season is on and I need to wait for each week's episode, I want to go back and binge again. I'm kind of in love with James Spader.
Totally with you on the haunted house question.
Have a great day,
Patti
Are you my sister from another mother? LOL We certainly do seem to have a lot in common. Except for Blacklist. I have no idea what that is. I'm going to have to check it out.
DeleteYes!! I LOVE your explanation of the haunted house! I feel the same way but haven't been able to put it into words as well as you did!
ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you for visiting and thank you so much for the kind words. :)
DeleteI couldn't believe it when I read your answer about the haunted house. I was saying the same thing to a friend just the other day. I truly believe that ghosts are demons.
ReplyDeleteI love Little Women and have read it several times. But I really can't choose one book because there are many I have read over and over. I think my all time favorites are the Betsy-Tacy series by Maud Hart Lovelace.
Thank you, Kathy. It's good when we get confirmation, isn't it? It also makes "ghosts" even more scary if you ask me!
DeleteI'm with you on reading lots of books over and over. I think it's just that I always identified with Jo. I've never heard of the Betsy-Tacy books. I'll have to Google them.

ReplyDeleteHow Great Thou Art is my favorite hymn! I LOVE it. Makes me cry. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

Enjoyed your answers and totally agree with you concerning the things in the realm of darkness. No ghosts, but plenty of demons ready, willing, and able to oblige those that are dabbling in darkness. Have a great rest of the week! :)
