Good morning, y'all! How on earth did it get back around to being Thankful Thursday again? It can't possibly have been a whole week since the last time. Can it??? Ha! My least favorite part of getting older is how the days seem to fly by.
Anyway, I'm joining Rebecca Jo @ Knit By God's Hand for Thankful Thursday even though I'm up and posting before she's posted so I'm linking to her, but not on the list over on her blog until I get home from work this afternoon.
On with the thanks!
This week I am thankful...
** first and foremost, that the infection in the soft tissue of my nose is beginning to heal. It was the most miserable thing. All of the tissue on the right side of my nose was affected. It swelled and was filled with the infection. Talk about painful! I have 8 more days of antibiotics to go, but I am so grateful that after 2 days it is much less inflamed and only a bit tender. Still kind of gross as the infection is draining and the skin on the outside of my nose is peeling.
** that the toes I smashed off the sofa last night (yes, I am a total mess lately!) are purple and one is possibly broken, but they aren't so painful that I can't walk on them.
** our daughter is getting serious about finding a job. It would take a lot of pressure off her husband who has been the sole source of income and works all the overtime he can so they can pay the huge mortgage on their house. We've suggested they refinance to a 30 year loan, but they want to keep their 15 year loan and own the house outright when they are 40. A good plan, but they've been struggling while she went through this difficult pregnancy and tapping all the parents and grandparents to fill the gaps. I think we'll all be glad we don't have to cover their bills, too.
** my boss gave me zero grief about taking yesterday off.
** hurricane Dorian hasn't done too much to the U.S. coast yet. I pray it stays that way.
** for all the heroes stepping up and helping out in the Bahamas.
** as always, for each one of you!
I've got to go to work. Have a blessed and thankful Thursday!
I agree, the days are just flying by. However, I'm grateful for each one I'm blessed with.
ReplyDeleteOUCHHHH - first your nose, now your toes? Not a good week for you my friend!
ReplyDeleteOh man, if they could hold out & make that 15 year mortgage - that would be awesome. It'll make life so much easier in the long run... but it is hard. Hopefully she can get a job & they can keep that paying off.
Making house payments and such is no joke...we sold our house to move here/up north. I don't regret it one bit (not owning a current home). We have control of my mil's finances and the house mortgage she has is the first thing that gets paid, all $579 of it. She was close to loosing it before we took over...anyways, tmi.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine your boss not being happy, sigh. AND I love your new header, smiles.
