A song you like with a colour in the title...Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison.

A song that needs to be played very loud...Ballroom Blitz by Sweet.

A song that makes you want to dance...so many! Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves, Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, and In the Mood by the Glen Miller Orchestra, just to name a few.

A song to drive to...Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd or All Summer Long by Kid Rock.

A song with a number in the title...Land of 1000 Dances by Wilson Pickett.

A song that makes you happy...Love Shack by the B-52's and pretty much any upbeat Christian song.

A song that makes you sad...Holes in the Floor of Heaven by Steve Wariner.

A song that reminds you of summer...All Summer Long by Kid Rock, anything by the Beach Boys.

A song that you remember from your childhood...Harper Valley P.T.A. by Jeannie C. Riley. I actually remember many, many songs, but that's the one that popped into my head. Go figure.

A song that breaks your heart...If You're Reading This by Tim McGraw.

A song that you never get tired of...Piano Man by Billy Joel.

A song from your preteen year...let's see, that would have been 1976...Take the Money and Run by the Steve Miller Band.

A song that is a cover by another artist...Mony, Mony...Billy Idol's cover of the Tommy James & the Shondell's song.

A song from the year you were born...Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime by Dean Martin was number one the week I was born in 1964.

A song that makes you think about life...What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong and a lot of hymns and Christian songs.

Your favourite song with a persons name in the title...Maggie May by Rod Stewart.

A song that you think everyone should listen to...I honestly can't pick just one song. I like too many kinds of music and too many songs. Music is great. Listen to what makes your heart sing!

A song by a band you wish were still together...Take It Easy by The Eagles.

A song by an artist no longer living...Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash.

A song by an artist with a voice you love...Smooth by Rob Thomas.

  2. Have you ever seen the movie "Walk the Line?" I love the scene where June/Reese writes "Ring of Fire" at her table with the zither. Now whenever I hear the song, I think of their love story.

    1. I have. It was a good movie. I was never all that into Cash's music before I saw it.

  4. A zillion years ago, we had friends come to visit and the guy wanted to go to a strip club in San Francisco. The "biggies" were too expensive and so we chose a little club a block away. We were the ONLY people in the club and this nude woman walked on a stage backed by mirrors, clicked a tape recorder and started dancing to "Harper Valley PTA," hardy a sexy song! But I remember that night whenever I hear the name of that song. It was such an uncomfortable thing. Where do you look? Either at the bored nudist or at your reflection in the mirror behind us. Both of us wives were pregnant. I wonder the tales they tell about US. We couldn't leave because we were the only people in the club.

    1. Oh my gosh! I would have hated the strip club to begin with and then to have the stripper dance to that song?? Yikes!

    2. Well that tops my story about Prissy wearing her big sister's nightie at the slumber party.

  5. Great list. Yes, we would have similar songs since we're close in age. We both have a Johnny Cash song. Heh.

  6. Ballroom Blitz - amazing piece of Glam Rock and I totally agree it should be played loud.

Bizarrely I too chose a Johnny Cash song but not one you will have heard of - probably.

    :o)

  7. What FUN prompts! Piano Man would be right there on my personal Top 10. Love Tim McGraw but that title doesn't ring any bells. (YouTube, here I come....)
It's been a long time since I participated in SS, but now you've got my mind spinning. (Stay tuned!)
