This Thankful Thursday finds me thankful...
** for Rebecca Jo @ Knit By God's Hand for hosting us each week.
** that it is Thursday, that I am working in the regular part of the home today, and that I have tomorrow off. The last two days in the dementia unit have been rough. The residents' troublesome behaviors have been at a peak and all of them at the same time. The staff is really stressed. Add to that the fact that I am still not sleeping well and I am looking forward to having tomorrow to catch up on chores and to sleep as much as I want.
** Mom and John made it to Florida safely. John has his check up at the Cancer Center today and then they are off to visit my aunt in Crawfordville.
** the rain that was supposed to move through yesterday missed us and it looks like we won't get too much today, either.
** that Tim's truck is hanging in there. I know he's going to need a new one soon and he's beginning to make noises about it, but I hate to think about the payments. He wants an F-250 so he can haul his trailer with a load on it if he wants/needs to. Have you seen the price tags on those things?
** that when I got out of the car after work last night, the first sound to greet me was Colton yelling "Na-na!" I looked up to see him running down the sidewalk with his arms flung wide to be scooped up in a hug. Best medicine in the world, right there.
He's getting so big! |
** for the pretty flowers in my big pots out by the sidewalk. I saw planters at Lowe's that I loved but I was going to buy the small, potted plants and make my own. Tim took the time to do the math and found that it was only a couple of dollars more for the planters with the bigger, more mature plants so we got those and he was able to get them out and moved into my bigger pots without any trouble. I chose tropical flowers this year and they are so pretty!
** for the more moderate temperatures we've had this week.
** for Colton's little kitten, Keke. There is just something about kittens and puppies that makes life so much better.
** as always, for each one of you!
Oh my, yes to those little legs running toward you with open arms and such joy. That can make any bad day end good! Whew on the truck price tags. You could almost buy a house!
ReplyDeleteAhhh - I bet that sweet welcome is always the best way to get home!!!! Helps ease the days troubles instantly.
ReplyDeleteI'm at that point with my car... just seeing how long I can make it at this point. I know a new one is in the future & dread getting back in car-payment-land.
Hope you enjoy that day off tomorrow.... rest well my friend!!!
That expression on Colton's face … I can't even! Tom would love to upgrade his Tacoma (in order to pull a boat or trailer), but I'm hoping he gets over himself. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI believe it's good to be thankful for even the smallest of things in life, instead of going around complaining all day like some people do.
