I am...

Reading:  The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan

Listening to:  The rumblings of yet another pop-up thunderstorm.

Loving:  that I was good at the used book sale this year and didn't fill up all the shelf space I made by donating 80 books. I only bought 5 books on the sneak preview day and yesterday at the $1/bag sale I only bought 9 and 4 of them were not for me!

Thinking:  about work and a situation that is going on there. It's not about me, but I'm getting dragged into it along with several other people who are being called on to be witnesses. My boss, who semi-terrifies me, wants to talk to me tomorrow.

Feeling:  a bit nervous.

Celebrating:  that Celebrex continues to keep my foot/leg/hip pain at manageable levels.

Grateful for:
a relaxing weekend off. I hit the book sale with Mom yesterday morning, kept Colton while Megan and Cody mowed their grass, relaxed and read, had dinner out with Tim and Colton then we got groceries. Today I relaxed and read my book in the morning because Tim had to work for a few hours. I spent some time reorganizing my bookshelves. We went to a local meat market and stocked up on meat, including 2 incredible strip steaks that we did on the grill for supper. I pulled weeds out of the garden and the flower beds and ran the trimmer around the yard. Megan and Colton came over and hung out for a while tonight. Yep...a peaceful weekend. Just what I needed.

Weather:
It was in the low 80's today and sunny. The thunderstorm is a bit of a surprise. I don't think it was expected. It definitely wasn't wanted. We had several storms yesterday that dumped at least 2 inches of rain on the region. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the mid 80's and more humid. The heat is to keep building all week. The humidity, too. That means the chance of thunderstorms will be increasing all week.

Enjoying:
a small bowl of the "salad" I made for supper. It's cucumber slices and halved cherry tomatoes drizzled with a little red wine vinegar and olive oil and sprinkled with fresh cracked black pepper and a little sea salt. M-mmm...summery!

A quote I want to share:

“There was a universe inside every human being every bit as big as the universe outside them. Books were the best way Nina knew - apart from, sometimes, music - to breach the barrier, to connect the internal universe with the external, the words acting merely as a conduit between the two worlds.”

  2. Your salad has piqued my interest! Since cutting back on my salt intake I've become a huge fan of cracked black pepper. 'Hope your work 'testimony' goes smoother than you think!
