Things to do in the summer.
** Have a rainy day movie day. Chick flicks worthy of the name and plenty of crunchy, buttery popcorn! (Favorites of mine include: Dirty Dancing, Hairspray, Grease, Hope Floats, Sweet Home Alabama, While You Were Sleeping, and The Proposal.)
** Visit the zoo. (One that lets you feed and touch the animals is preferable.)
** Visit nearby historical sites. (You probably haven't been there in years...if ever.)
** Have a water battle with your favorite kid. (Even if said kid is a teenager.)
** Watch a parade.
** Pack up the kids, the grands, or just you and your sweetie, a big old blanket, a pile of towels, and head to the beach at the closest state park. Just like the old days. Enjoy hot salty fries in a cup, lick ice cream before it melts down your arm, splash in the lake, build castles on the shore.
** Head out for the day or the weekend with no plans. Go where the mood and the roadside attraction signs take you.
** Indulge in a pedicure and choose a really fun color of polish. One you'd never dare on your finger nails. Or find a cute design on Pinterest and ask the nail tech to duplicate it.
** Ooh and aah over fireworks.
** Spend some time looking up at the stars.
I stillllll need to get a pedicure - never have - so badly needed!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had time to go get one at the salon. I finally broke down and did my own today. My feet look better, but it's not the same pampering experience. :-P
DeleteLove your 10!! We should all be doing every one of them!!
