1. Let's talk about film scores/songs. What is the first one that you thought about when you saw today's subject? Dirty Dancing! I didn't even have to think about it. That's my favorite movie and it has such a fun score. My second favorite score is from the Lindsay Lohan version of The Parent Trap.
2. Do you remember the first movie you ever saw on the "big screen"? Would you tell us about it? I don't really remember the first movie I saw, but I'm told it was Disney's The Jungle Book, which is a great movie with fun songs.
3. Who is your favorite female movie star? Who is your favorite male movie star? Go ahead and list more than one if you must. The female is easy...Sandra Bullock. She is just wonderful in every role I've seen her in (The Birdcage or whatever it's called that she just did doesn't count because I've never seen it). The male is tougher. I like so many! Dennis Quaid, Tommy Lee Jones, Sam Elliot, Mark Wahlberg, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington....
4. How about those old black & white movies! Which one do you always stop and watch, even just a little, when channel surfing? I don't know that there's any one specific one, but I will definitely stop and watch Abbott & Costello and Bing Crosby & Bob Hope On the Road movies.
5. Is there a movie quote that makes you laugh or one that you repeat often in life that you can share with us? Will we know what movie it comes from without you telling us? You probably know where it comes from. My daughter and I always used to say "I carried a watermelon" when we were in an awkward situation. I even named my blog that for a couple of years.
6. Please share something random about your week with us. Hmmm....it's been kind of a slow week, I guess. There isn't too much to tell. The main morning girl in the dementia unit is off this week so I am covering for her all week. I was off yesterday and saw our PCP and got a prescription to get back on Adipex-P. I haven't gained weight in the months I've been off of it, but I haven't lost any, either. Time to try and jump start the losing again. I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm off and Saturday is going to be a fun and busy day with a charity auction with my mom and an Easter egg hunt with Colton at the nursing home.
That's it for today. Thanks for visiting, now you go have a blessed and beautiful day!
That charity auction sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun. I have watched The Parent Trap hundreds of times. We lived in a hotel waiting for our house to be built and that was the only kids movie on the movie channel. I loved it every time. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI took my pastor's wife to a movie for her birthday and that was the only one family friendly enough for her. I liked the original, but love the second one. Dennis Quaid might have something to do with that. ;)
DeleteDo tell me what movie that quote is from. I always wondered why your blog was named that. I liked the original Parent Trap and would you believe I never saw Dirty Dancing?
ReplyDeleteThe quote is from Dirty Dancing. Baby helps carry watermelons to a party and when she's introduced to Johnny (the hot guy) she's so tongue-tied all she can manage to say is "I carried a watermelon."
DeleteOH my gosh... why didn't I think of Dirty Dancing! And I see you like Denzel as well... oh my.. he is my fave!! Have a great Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteThank you, the same to you...and yes, Denzel is a really good actor!
DeleteI had no idea where I carried a watermelon came from. I thought it had to do with a long pregnancy. Lol. Now I'll have to look it up. :-))
ReplyDeleteLong pregnancy...Ha! That's a good one. It's from Dirty Dancing.
DeleteHHHHHAAAA - I forgot about that being your blog name!!!! Funny!
ReplyDeleteI may have told you before - but I went to the Dirty Dancing Concert & it was FANTASTIC - had Eric Carmen there & Bill Medley - & the Dirty Dancing dancers from the movie... good stuff!
I don't think you told me before. That sounds awesome! I'd have loved that.
DeleteSo glad you shared this clip …. NOW that all makes sense! Thanks for the giggle, Stacy!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteLOL! Great clip! Good luck on that Adipex-P...I will be interested to hear how it works for you. Have a fantastic day! Annster's Domain
ReplyDeleteI lost 30 lbs on the Adipex-P the first time I used it. It'd be awesome if I can do that well again since I haven't gained the weight back.
DeleteI love the On the Road movies! They're so fun.
ReplyDeleteYou have good taste in movies!
DeleteYa know...now that you mention a cartoon....I think I saw The Fox and the Hound as a kid before I saw E.T....oh well. I cried and cried during both movies. Hahahhaha Loved your answers! Have a nice Wednesday!

I went with The Jungle Book because I couldn't remember what other movie might have at least been among the first. As for crying, I've heard the new Dumbo is a killer for that.
DeleteI love Dirty Dancing too and forgot about Denzel. Wowie!! Thanks for joining the Medley today, Stacy! I enjoyed your answers! It's fun comparing what everyone says!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun. I've seen so many movies that I should have thought of...like Forest Gump!
DeleteHow fun. My first movie on seen on screen is Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Smiles.
ReplyDeleteI think Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is one of the first movies we took our kids to see in the theater.
DeleteThese are all great movies. But I had hard time with these one.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
I would have a lot of trouble if I had to come up with recent movies. I don't see too many of those except the violent, shoot'em up guy movies my husband likes. He puts one of the movie channels on nearly every evening. Oh well. Thanks for stopping by to visit!
