A Fizzle and a Prayer

So, the "big" storm was kind of a fizzle. Oh, it got a little dicey Sunday morning, but otherwise...not so much. At least for us. I know it hit harder farther north. The warm air that pushed up from the south on Saturday turned most of it into rain for us and it didn't get cold enough to start freezing until early Sunday morning.

The cold is another story. This morning the temperature is right around 0 degrees and the windchill is about -15 degrees.  Brrrrr!

I work today. I wish I didn't have to. With the storm affecting the barometric pressure and a full moon/lunar eclipse coming, it was a baaaaaaad weekend in the dementia unit. All the behavior issues were rearing their heads, the behaviors that are always evident were magnified, and it always just stirs the residents up and makes them more mobile and physical. I could really go for a stay home in my pj's kind of day, but I am scheduled to work, so to work I will go. Tomorrow is my day off.

Pj's are not happening tomorrow, either. Shhh….don't tell as I'm not ready to say anything at work...I have a job interview tomorrow. It's with Senior Life, which is a day facility for seniors. They provide a meal, activities, doctors, and more all in one place in an effort to keep seniors in their own homes for as long as possible. I'm interviewing for a position that would require my driving skills again. It would be picking seniors up in the mornings, taking them home in the afternoons, and driving them to any appointments with specialists through the day. In between the driving I'd be an aide at the facility...doing basically what I do now. The difference is it is a Monday - Friday, 8-4:30 kind of job. No weekends. No nights. No holidays. It also pays $2 more per hour to start than I'm making at my current job. And I'd still be working with seniors. Please keep it in your prayers because I really want it and so does Tim.

Well, I guess I actually have to get ready if I'm going to work. I don't think they are ready for a casual pj's day. LOL  Have a blessed day and keep warm and safe wherever you are!

    1. Thanks, Ann! Yes, the moon really does affect behaviors. It makes sense I guess when you think it's strong enough to move the ocean tides...not so odd that it would affect us, too, since we're mostly made of water.
