Sunday Stealing: Art Historic

Hello and welcome! It's that time of the week again...time to link up with the merry band of thieves at Sunday Stealing. Today is also the first Sunday in Advent. Enjoy your day and all the days this month leading up to the celebration of Jesus' birth.

This from Art Historic

Classical: If you were an Olympian god, what would you be known for?  I would hope it would be kindness and love...those Olympians could have used a lot more of those.

Byzantine: Do you prefer gold or silver accessories?  Silver (white gold). I don't think gold looks good on me, plus I don't care for the look of it. I like rose gold, but have trouble deciding what colors it looks good with other than plain black, brown, white/off white so I just avoid wearing it.

Medieval: Are you religious?  To me religion is all the rules and regulations man has tried to impose to faith, so no...I don't follow a religion. I follow and have faith in Jesus as the Savior and Lord who bridged the gap between God and humanity. I simply try to follow the teachings of the Bible, not any particular religion.

Gothic: What is your favourite historic building?  I have always been fascinated by the old Allegheny County Prison in Pittsburgh.

Renaissance: Have you ever had a time in your life when you felt enlightened or changed?  Accepting Jesus's gift has changed and continues to change the way I look at things, how I think, and how I act. I suspect it will be a life-long process and that excites me!

Baroque: Do you enjoy the finer things in life?  To a certain extent, but luxury isn't all that important. I am more content with the simple things.

Rococo: Is your bedroom full or trinkets and pictures? If so, which pictures adorn your walls?  Not really. It's mostly full of clothes. I really need to get on with switching over to my cold weather wardrobe. As for pictures, there is a huge Glamour Shot of me that I gave Tim for our 10th anniversary, a couple of antique prints, and a family photo.

Neoclassicism: If something came back into fashion, what do you hope it would be?  Manners, respect, and kindness.

Romanticism: Do you often see things in a positive light?  I can't say that it's my natural mindset, but I work very hard on retraining my mind to jump to the positive first. Let's just say I've improved, but it's still a work in progress.

Pre-Raphaelite: Which book would you like to see turned into a film?  Pick any one of James Rollins's books. They would all be rollicking good adventures!

Impressionism: Do you look for details or take everything in at once?  I never thought about it, but I guess I see the whole at first and then narrow down to details as I look at or think about a thing.

Art Nouveau: When were you last at the theatre?  As in a play or musical? It's been years. My family are not fans.

Surrealism: Why does the porcupine think it's a duck?  Because it's mother always said it could be anything it wanted to be when it grew up.

Pop Art: Do you enjoy pop culture?  I enjoy a few things here and there, but not really as a whole.

Contemporary: What did you do today?  Not a lot of anything. It was the first day of my weekend off (Saturday) and it rained. And rained. And RAINED. I read, played around on the internet, did a couple loads of laundry, cleaned up my office a bit, napped, watched TV with Tim, and talked to a friend. It was kind of nice.

  6. I think most of the Mid-Atlantic is moldy from all the rain. And you are right, that is a Home Interior picture. I couldn't remember what it was called. I've had it for years and years. It's calming for a bedroom. Good catch on that.

    1. All the rain and this last time with the melting snow, too. The ground is so wet. Our back yard is nothing but a big mud pit.

    1. It was actually in the movie Mrs. Soffel, the true story of a warden's wife who fell in love with a prisoner and helped him and his brother escape. It's from 1984 and stars Mel Gibson and Diane Keaton.
