Decking the Halls

Fa-la-la-la....the decking of the halls has begun. I traditionally decorate for Christmas over Thanksgiving weekend, but for the first time in my life I'll be working through the holiday weekend. So, after much cleaning and getting rid of stuff and rearranging (that new love seat is being delivered Friday morning), the boxes of decorations were brought in.

At this point, the tree is up, but not decorated and some decorations are out, carefully placed in their spot of honor.  However, there is still much to do and it's not going to happen today since I have Bible study tonight. I might get one or two more things done, but that's it.

The rest of the weekend was good. I spent Saturday cleaning and reading (the new Stephanie Plum mystery arrived in Friday's mail). Tim came home early since it was our anniversary.

We had planned to go to Red Lobster and were there before 5:00 but the wait for seating was already an hour long! We decided to try Longhorn Steakhouse and only waited 20 minutes or so. We didn't mind as a good steak is a close second to shrimp.

Nothing good was showing at the theater so we just walked through the nearby Walmart, which is quite a bit larger than ours, looking to see if it had a couple of things I've been wanting to get but that our Walmart hasn't had. I scored on one item and had no luck on the second (but did find it online and it will be here next week).

Megan and Colton were in and out all weekend so there was lots of time with my little Boogie Man. He did give us all a scare Saturday evening by taking a tumble down his basement stairs. His cheek is bruised and his shoulder is scratched up, but otherwise he is fine. Megan and Cody will have to come up with something to keep him off the stairs since they are fixing the basement up as a large-scale entertainment area.

By the way, they are finding Hank (the chocolate lab pup) to be too much to handle. He is probably about 8 or 9 months old and cute as all get out, but he is VERY energetic and causing  a fair amount of damage in their home. That's causing a lot of stress and arguing. Since they are trying for baby number two, they are ready to admit Hank isn't something they can handle right now. So....would anyone like to adopt a chocolate lab?

  1. Oh my, that fall sounds bad. I hope he is OK. Kids seem to recover quickly from falls and I hope that is the case here. I don't start decorating for Christmas until after Dec 1. I like my fall decorations too much to take them down early. Can't wait to see what you do for the Christmas season.

    1. My ex-boyfriend dumped me one week ago after I accused him of seeing someone else and insulting him. I wanted him back in my life again because i really love him but he refuse to have any contact with me. I was so confuse and i did not know what to do, so I reach to the Internet for help and I saw a testimony of how a spell caster help a woman named jolene from united state to get her ex back so I contact the spell caster and explain my problem to him and he cast a spell for me and assure me of 2 days that my ex will return to me and to my greatest surprise the third day my ex came knocking on my door and beg for forgiveness. I am so happy that my love is back again and not only that, we are about to get married. Once again thank you Dr gbojie . You are truly talented and gifted. 2. Ahhh - that makes me so sad about Hank. People get dogs without really knowing what they're getting into & Labs are seriously energetic animals till about 2 years old... they're great family dogs though - if they can just rough it out a little bit longer. :( :( :(

  3. Oh, poor Hank! I'm wishing we lived closer; but will pray he finds himself a perfect fit, perhaps with a tribe of adolescent boys. LOL!

  4. Sorry to hear about Hank. Sure hope a nice family steps up to give him a home! Too bad you are working Thanksgiving weekend, but I know you love your new job. We got our decorations out but won't start until after turkey day.
