10 On Tuesday

** My newly found half-sister is passing through town on Thursday on her way to visit our shared father. We are taking this to the next level and meeting for lunch.

** I'm excited about meeting her. She seems to be somewhere between excited and a panic attack.

** She sent me some pictures of our father. One from elementary school, one from jr. high, his senior picture, and a fairly recent one. I stared at him for a long time and finally decided we might have similar smiles, but that's all I see.

** I might have to take back a lot of things I've said about my boss. She is letting me take off half my shift so I can meet my sister. She might be more excited than I am about it.

** They're ruining another childhood icon. Saw a new movie while walking through Walmart the other day. The Banana Splits are now in their own slasher film. Boo.

** The Advil P.M. commercial showing a couple "dancing" in their sleep is totally how Tim and I would look if you filmed us through the night.

** The furnace has kicked on a few times in the last couple of days and last night I added a blanket to the bed.

** Halloween isn't even here and the stores, the magazines, Hallmark....all have me in the mood for Christmas already!

** Pennsylvania is getting to be ridiculously expensive as a place to live. We have really high taxes on just about everything and every single time you turn around Gov. Wolf has decided to tax something else. And they wonder why the young people leave in droves.

** Feeling sad. Another resident who I've loved and grown close to the family of is in the final days...hours of her life. Always hard to watch them go and witness the family's grief.

  1. No way they are doing that to the Banana Splits. Boo to whoever thought that up. What a change in temperatures! It seems as if fall decided to just push summer out of the way. I don't mind that stores have Christmas instead of Halloween. I'm not really into Halloween and I love Christmas. But I wish they hadn't pushed Thanksgiving out of the way so quickly. I must have missed the news -- what is Gov. Wolf taxing now? Whenever he comes here to Philly I feel as if I should go grab him by the arm and tell him we need to have a little talk. Ha, ha! I'd probably have a million security people pulling me away to jail. Have a good day, Stacy! Try to stay warm.

  2. Like your boss, I'm SO excited … on pins and needles, actually! I KNOW I couldn't do what you do every work day without breaking down; or worse, becoming an alcoholic. LOL.

I hope you and your sister have fun meeting in person. I would imagine that would be a little nerve-wracking, but so fun I hope.
