Sunday Stealing

These are questions suggested by Compassion, Int'l

And BTW, Happy Birthday to Lori, whose birthday is the 9th!

What is the most fun thing you have ever done?  Hmm...I'm not sure. Maybe leading a mission trip to the Navajo reservation in New Mexico? I loved everything about that and had a great time!

Are you left-handed or right-handed?  Right. Because my dad refused to let me be left-handed. He smacked my hand if I used the left one to eat or write. I learned pretty quick to use my right hand for everything.

What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?  Had faith in me and appointed me to a job for which I had no experience. It sure gave me confidence and there was no way I was going to let them down. I learned to do a lot because of the chance.

What is the biggest animal you’ve seen in the wild?  I'm not sure how to compare the sizes, so either an elk or an alligator.

What is the smallest animal you’ve seen in the wild?  A baby mole.

Do you ever have funny dreams at night?  I don't remember my dreams very often, so when I do it's because they are extremely vivid. They tend to be really weird, but not particularly funny.

If you could make a law for your country, what would it be?  If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all.

What would you do if you were invisible for a day?  Relax and enjoy the day since no one would be able to find me.

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be?  I don't want to be anyone else.

What would you like to change about yourself?  I need to lose weight and if I could get rid of this curly hair....

What is your daily routine.  Wake up between 4:00-5:30 (depends on whether I can sleep or not), shower and dress, eat breakfast while checking email/Facebook/blog, leave for work by 7:30, work from 8:00-4:00, come home, make supper, chill at home and probably have a visit from our daughter and the kids, bed between 11:00-12:00.

What would your perfect day be like?  My husband and I would head out in the morning and spend the day going to flea markets, antique shops, wineries, or whatever caught our eye along the way and we'd indulge in a very good dinner then come home to a visit from the grandkids.

How old were you when you learned to read?  Four or five, I think.

What is the most interesting thing you know?  I'm too tired for this question. I can't think of what that might be.

What makes you nervous?  Snakes, public speaking, the dog barking when I'm home alone at night, my boss...

What is your favourite flower?  Sunflowers and zinnias.

Have you ever ridden on a horse or any other animal?  I used to ride horses quite often and I've also ridden a camel and an elephant.

What time do you go to bed?  Usually between 11:00-12:00.

What time do you get up?  Already answered this one, too, but between 4:00-5:00 most days.

What is something that is always in your refrigerator?  Diet Coke, cheese, eggs.

Thanks to our hostess Bev for another week of great questions! Be sure to visit the Sunday Stealing site to find the links to other players.

  1. I see what you mean. I had no idea alligators could get over five hundred pounds.

  2. My son and husband are left handed. We allowed our son to decide whichever, I know of folks who use to smack their kids, sad. When it became clear he like to use the left hand to color, draw, write, it was fine. I am ambidexteritous --can use either or.

    Have a great day, smiles.

  3. I, too, am left-handed. Well, mostly ... except in cases where I have to throw a ball in the same vicinity of a target. LOVE your response to a new law for the country.

  4. Hi Stacy,

I use my left hand when I have to but am hopless with most things. My writing with my left hand is like the trail a drunk spider that stepped in some ink and got lost on his way across the paper.

    :o)

    Cheers

  6. If we had your law, we'd be an awfully quiet country.

  8. Loved your perfect day. I miss going to flea markets, garage sales and antique shops. My parents asked my teacher if they should teach me to be right handed and she said no, let Lola go with left handed if that’s what she chooses on her own.

    1. Good for your teacher! I don't remember being punished in school for using my left hand, but back in the day they did still discourage it quite strongly.

  9. I enjoyed your answers. Your perfect day sounds nice. How do you make it with just 4-5 hours of sleep? I need at least 6, if at all possible.

    1. I don't know. I would love to get more sleep, but my body doesn't seem to cooperate. I've just stopped trying.

    1. How do I function or 4 or 5 hours of sleep? Probably not as well as I could with more sleep, but I've just stopped trying to get more because no matter what I do, I seem to wake up at the 5 hour mark. Once in a while I might get 6. It has been years since I've been able to sleep in.
