Shake It Off (2014)
Unfamiliar with this week's song. Hear it here.
1) This song makes Crazy Sam want to dance. What song inspires you to get on your feet? Oh man....LOTS of songs make me want to dance. Off the top of my head, Uptown Funk, Happy, Walking on Sunshine, Dancing with Myself.
2) Paul McCartney met Taylor Swift at the SNL 40 Anniversary special and told her he really enjoys playing and singing this song. What's the last song you sang along with? I can't remember, some 50's rock and roll at work today.
3) The lyrics tell us Swift "shakes off" nasty gossip and unfair criticism. What about you? Do you worry about what others think of you? Not usually, but my boss's unfair criticism really bugs me. I know other people do things she would find fault with...if she watched them constantly like she does me. I swear the woman just sits and waits for me to do something she can find fault with.
4) Her parents are big music fans, and were going to name their baby (boy or girl) "Taylor" after their favorite artist, James Taylor. Can you think of a singer that your mom and/or dad really enjoyed? Glenn Miller for Dad and Ricky Nelson for Mom. Pretty glad I'm not named after either of those.
5) She grew up on an 11-acre Christmas tree farm. Do you get a fresh tree every year, or do you have an artificial tree, or do you not put up a tree at all? We have an artificial tree. I put ours up right after Thanksgiving so I don't want to have to worry about keeping a fresh tree alive or deal with the mess.
6) Taylor Swift is 5'10". According to the CDC, the average American woman is 5'4" while men are, on average, 5'9". Are you taller or shorter than average? Depending on who is measuring me, the time of day, the phase of the moon, whether it's high or low tide, etc....I am either 5'4" or 5'5".
7) She enjoys good, old fashioned mysteries, especially those by Agatha Christie. Are you currently reading a book for pleasure? Yes, An Alaskan Christmas. The Christmas romances are hitting the shelves and they are as addictive as Hallmark movies.
8) Her brother Austin is a freelance photographer who took the official pictures for her 2008 concert tour. Who took the last photo of you? I was going to say the photographer on the cruise, but I think our daughter has taken a couple of me with little Leah.
9) Random question: What's your go-to comfy outfit? Warm weather, capri leggings and a t-shirt. Cold weather, leggings and a soft, comfy tunic. Though, in cold weather, I'd live in my pink and white striped fuzzy bathrobe if I could.
Have yourselves a wonderful Saturday! It's my weekend to work so I'll be catching up later.
A fun Saturday 9! Nice to catch up with you, Stacy!
ReplyDeleteHi Terri! It's good to hear from you. I hope all is well in Lakeland!
DeleteI vote for the warm and fuzzy bathrobe too, smiles. Actually, if I could just be the female Hugh Hefner (minus the playboy/playgirl bunnies, lol) I would wear pj's all day, smiles.lololol
ReplyDeleteTry to have a good day a work this weekend.
I don't have to deal with the evil woman this weekend. I'll be in the dementia unit and one, she doesn't work weekends and two, she rarely goes in there...just when she thinks things are being done wrong.
DeleteOne time the eagle mascot greeting us at the end of the gangplank to Skagway, Alaska got a little too friendly and the ship's photographer got an excellent photograph of me giving it an elbow.
ReplyDeleteI used to know a girl in high school who sometimes was Chuck E Cheese and I was McGruff The Crime Dog in the Fourth Of July parade so I know how miserable wearing a giant head can be but gee whiz...
FUN FACT: The Chuck E Cheese tail was superreinforced because kids were ripping it off all the time.
Only cruise picture I've ever purchased.
I totally avoided ALL those cheesy photo ops getting off the ship. We only did the dinner portraits.
DeleteI feel your pain. I worked, briefly for someone like your boss. Fortunately it didn't last long.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping my term with her doesn't last long...either because I find something else or she quits or retires.
DeleteAnd now I have all your "get up and dance songs" in my head... and I thank you very much... got the motivation to get up and get things done this morning!! And girl.... my boss is the same way! Makes me batty! Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome! I love my happy songs. :)
DeleteUgh. Sorry you have a nasty boss, too. :(
My brother was a Ricky Nelson fan along with the Kingston Trio, and Peter, Paul, and Mary
ReplyDeleteI don't think my mom appreciated the Kingston Trio or PPandM.
DeleteALl this cozy attiree makes me want to take a nap and it's just 9:00 am. and oh, yes, our artificial tree goes up Thanksgiving weekend! I love Christmas especially the music!!!
ReplyDeleteHa! Well, it's 5:30 now and I could go for a nap. :)
DeleteI am sorry to hear you have a boss who is making your job less than fun. You should enjoy your workplace, and sometimes all it takes is one toxic person and boom! There go the good times.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the truth. One of the aides once told me they were all taking bets on how long I'd last before I couldn't take the woman any longer. EVERYONE loathes her.
DeleteI had a principal much like your boss--it was so toxic!
ReplyDeleteYep. Unless you're one of her two pets.
DeleteWalking on Sunshine … oooh ya. Now that's an ear-worm I can enjoy! How sad to live inside your evil boss' head. Sucks to be her.
ReplyDeleteShe's happy as can be, sashaying around giving Christians a bad name and having no idea that most view her as a hypocrite. She makes a big, freaking, deal that she's a Christian and holds everyone to her imposed standard...but doesn't live by it herself. XP
DeleteYour get up and dance songs are great! Billy Idol is playing in my head now.
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas books sound fantastic! I really want to be reading. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

Yes! Finally someone else here that appreciates Billy Idol! lol
DeleteThe Christmas books are good, but I learned the hard way...choose carefully because some of them have pretty explicit scenes.
Fun answers but especially to 4 and 6. Lol
ReplyDeleteAnd, do you now have a grand daughter, too? Yay..
And yes, right after Thanksgiving for the tree here, too. But sometimes it is up until the beginning or March, depending on the weather. It's such a cheerful thing I hate to put it all away. Have a lovely weekend, Stacy.
We do have a new granddaughter, Zippi. She was born while we were on our cruise in July. She'll be 2 months old tomorrow!
DeleteYou reminded me to look for Christmas romances! Agree with you on fresh trees.. the mess isn't worth it.
ReplyDeleteNope, and now you have to worry about creepy crawlies. A friend gave up live trees after she got bit by a spider living in hers and her hand swelled up.
