10 On Tuesday

I hate the classic game of Monopoly. When my kids were young we had Monopoly Jr. and that wasn't too bad. It only took 30 minutes to play. Then a couple of years ago I bought myself the Big Bang Theory edition of Monopoly and to my surprise it was actually fun to play.

Over the years I've seen all kinds of Monopoly sets geared to specific sports teams, animals, etc. While looking for something else on Amazon last week I came across a few versions that looked interesting. Which one would you like to try?

1. Cheaters Edition:

  • Follow, bend or break the rules to win the Cheaters Edition of the Monopoly board game. Cheating is part of the game
  • Don't get caught! This Monopoly game includes a plastic handcuff unit that "chains" cheating players to Jail space
  • Cheat cards encourage players to cheat and which cheat to attempt. Complete a cheat to get a reward; fail a cheat and pay the consequences

2. Disney Theme Park Edition III:

  • Combines the world's most popular theme parks with the world's most popular board game.
  • Features your favorite attractions at Disney Theme Parks, including The Haunted Mansion and the Disney Monorail.
  • Gameboard features pop-up Disney castle.
  • Includes Disney character tokens and collectible tin.

3. The Golden Girls:

  • Unique board to reflect the classic television series the golden girls
  • Iconic golden girls tokens to travel along the Monopoly board

4. Monopoly for Millennials (my personal choice):

5. Wine-Opoly:

  • For 2-6 players
  • Like the classic property game, but with a wine theme
  • Choose traditional play or one hour version
  • Opoly-style play
  • Learn facts about wine while you play

6. Anti-Monopoly:

  • Anti-Monopoly from University Games is a fresh twist on the classic game of real estate
  • Choose a side: will you be a monopolist or a free market competitor?
  • Includes game board, plastic playing pieces, cards and play money
  • For 2 - 4 players, ages 8 and up

7. Ms. Monopoly:

  • Meet Ms. Monopoly: This Breakout Monopoly board game introduces a new character to the Monopoly family, and is a celebration of Women entrepreneurs and inventors
  • Buy inventions by women: instead of buying properties, players buy some of the things that wouldn't exist without the innovative women who invented them
  • Get more money: in the MS. Monopoly game, women get a higher payout at the start of the game and more money when passing go
  • Dream big: players can build business headquarters to collect even more rent. Zoom ahead with ride shares, and purchase utilities -- such as solar heating -- invented by women
  • Themed tokens: move around the game board Using one of the tokens that represents Ms. Monopoly: a notebook and pen, a jet, A glass, A watch, a barbell, or Ms. Monopoly white hat
8. Monopoly Pizza Game:

  • Pizza-themed Monopoly board game: just about everyone loves pizza! This pizza-themed game for kids ages 8 and up is a twist on the classic Monopoly board game. The packaging looks like a familiar pizza take-out box, and the game board features luscious-looking photos of pizza toppings
  • A pizza game for kids: buy a slice and rack up the dough! In this Monopoly pizza board game, instead of buying properties and collecting rent, players buy pizza! Each player tries to collect as much pizza as they can, buying pizza spaces and picking up slice tokens. It's a great family game for kids ages 8 and up
  • Pizza-themed tokens: move around the game board Using one of the awesome pizza-themed tokens: cheese grater, pizza chef, cheese shaker, delivery bike, slicer, and pizza on a paddle.
  • Share the cheese love: land on a pizza space and claim it! Players collect money from opponents who land on their pizza space; then they share a slice together and earn more slices. With chance and community chest cards, players can become pizza connoisseurs, or try something fun such as entering a pizza-making contest
  • Collect the most pizza slices to win: the game ends when all the pizza spaces on the board have been purchased. The player with the most -- and tastiest -- pizza at the end of the game wins
9. Game of Thrones:

  • Based on the hit TV series from Hbo: game of Thrones fans can travel the legendary lands of Westeros as you buy, sell, and trade locations from the seven Kingdoms in this edition of the Monopoly game
  • Great houses game tokens: the 6 Monopoly game tokens are inspired by the Honorary sigils of the great houses; who will you pledge your loyalty to?
  • Game of Thrones themed money and graphics: includes 42 gold Dragon and 53 silver stags cardboard Coins, and the game board and box feature graphics inspired by the Hbo TV show game of Thrones
  • Holdfasts and castles: this version of the Monopoly game includes 32 holdfasts and 12 castles in place of houses and hotels, and the properties are locations from the TV show
  • Game of Thrones theme song: features iron throne card holder with a musical stand that plays the game of Thrones theme song; press the button on the stand to play it
  • To find cards make sure to lift up the music box, The cards are packed in a well underneath.

10. John Wayne-Opoly:

  • Create your own life with an amazing collection of auction items from the legendary life of this iconic Star with John Wayne opoly
  • Play on an auction-themed Hollywood game board to collect the iconic Memorabilia of the Duke
  • This game comes with a plethora of pieces
  • Each of the cards comes with unique trivia
  • Develop properties with custom-designed barrels and sheriff's offices
This is just a sampling. You can find a Monopoly edition featuring virtually ANYTHING.
