Ten On Tuesday

Favorite...

Holiday:  Thanksgiving. I am not all about Black Friday shopping, so it's a peaceful day with family...a last respite before the Christmas craziness starts.

Weekend Activity:  Searching for "treasure" at auctions, flea markets and yard sales.

My haul from this past Saturday's charity auction. A bald eagle hooked rug, 2 quilts, 2 shams, cake stand,
dog figurine, silverware chest, china piece that matches my grandmother's china, a stack of blankets thrown
in with other stuff, and a white enamel bread box that I gave to Megan. Grand total, $31.

Snack Food:  Any kind of chips. I am all about the salty carbs.

Time Waster:  Online games and the weekend memes (those things are time consuming).

Spot In the House:  My little room that has all my books, crafts, and treasures.

Way to Spend a Summer Day:  Swinging on the deck with a good book in my hands and a cool drink at my side.

Daydream:  The bathroom remodel is done and a big living room has been added to the house.

Job:  The one I have now. Doing something to make someone's life a little bit better is really satisfying.

Decorating Style:  Flea market eclectic. Ha! I don't even know if that's a thing, but it describes my style. I am not all matchy-matchy. I like a house that celebrates life.

Family Tradition:  I'm sorry to say that we don't really have many traditions. My dad kept the traditions alive in the family and I tried, but no one has ever seemed to love them like Dad and I did. He's been gone 25 years and now that the kids are grown and gone from home the traditions are all but gone.

  1. Doesnt it always seem there's one person that does do the traditions? When they're gone, they dont keep up. Sad.
YES FRIEND YES - I cant wait to start spending all my mornings on my back porch with a book & coffee!

  2. Gosh, I'm going to have to step up my thrifting game! I love what you said about a home being eclectic … that celebrates life. That's perfect!

  4. "I like a house that celebrates life." Yes, me too! I miss our family traditions too, Stacy. Seems to just be a thing of the past (in my family, anyway). Makes me sad.
