Today is Thursday, Thankful Thursday, to be specific and we are about halfway through Lent. There is so very much to be thankful for in life at any time, but especially so during this holiest of seasons. Please visit Rebecca Jo @ Knit By Gods Hand and join in with those who are sharing their gratitude today.
This week I am thankful...
* to know and serve the one true and living God. To be loved and valued by the One who created the universe and all that is in it. To be held in the hand of the One who sacrificed his only son to give me the hope of heaven.
* for my bible study group. The story of how we all came to be together is long, convoluted, and pure evidence of God's plan and how long it has been in the making. I've been in several churches over the years and in many bible study groups, but never have I even seen one like this group. They are a rare and much appreciated treasure. We meet independently of any church. Our common bond is our commitment to and hunger for the Lord. I am being so blessed this week by a week of around the clock prayer. There are 12 of us (men and women) so we each chose a 2-hour block of time to cover the entire day and during our time, we pray for only each other and our needs.
* that my mom is available and able to drive my daughter to the ER in the middle of the night (since all her many trips happen in the night). I'm thankful, too, that she is patient with her and hasn't been unkind since it always turns out to be nothing but her anxieties getting the best of her.
* for my pretty, new, not black, hair color....and that while my scalp and neck itch like crazy, they don't hurt. (In case you haven't been around for the story this week...The process of going from overly dyed black hair to a nice normal color resulted in my scalp, neck, and the backs of my ears being covered in first and mild second degree chemical burns.)
* today is my day off. I am tired and need the break this week. I'm thankful, too, that while it's not sunny out there, it is going to be in the 60s today. Yea, spring weather!
* that my stinky little pup is finally going to get a bath! Shh....don't tell her, she hates them.
* yesterday's pregnancy checkup showed grandbaby #4 is doing just fine. Can't wait for Brooklyn Rose to get here!
* as always, for each one of you!
Have a blessed and happy rest of your week!
Loved reading your list!
ReplyDeleteWe all have so much to be thankful for--but especially those of us who happen to be grandmothers!
Glad there is not pain involved but sorry the beautiful hair caused you irritation! It looks beautiful though!! Enjoy your day off!!! YAY! The name Brooklyn Rose is adorable - I love it! Have a fantastic day Stacy!
ReplyDeleteI can remember Ricky's panic attacks always had us in the ER in the middle of the night too... never in the afternoon or morning - always anywhere from 9pm to 4am.... its a lot.
ReplyDeleteIsnt it wonderful having a good group to pray together & know you have others praying for you? I miss my JOY group. We sort of disbanded after my surgeries & my dad passing away - I just couldnt lead with all that was going on & now I miss them so much
I always enjoy your Thankful Thursday list, Stacy! So many blessings to count and the grandbaby #4 news is just the best! I'm glad your burns/reaction from the hair color hasn't caused pain, but itchy is bad enough! Let's hope it goes away soon. Your hair looks great in the softer color! Enjoy your day off!! Hugs!
