Currently In the Snow

Good morning! We're doing a bit of digging out here today after yesterday's "big" storm finally moving on. Nothing like what was predicted, though, so we can't complain. (And I really can't complain because Tim dug my car out this morning when he dug his out...nice since Colton is here and I have to drive Mom to the bank when it opens.)

It was a working weekend for me, so not too much to tell about. I did start training a new girl at work...and I do mean girl. She is just 19, but she is a natural with the dementia residents. She is very confident and jumps right in. She is going to school to do sonograms so she will only be working on the weekends with me. Other wise, it was a calm and unexciting weekend at the home.

Friday evening my Bible study group got together for a covered-dish supper and an overview of Revelation for our new members who missed out on the 3 or 4 years we've already spent studying it. Oh my goodness, the food! There was clam chowder, taco soup, vegetable beef soup, pizza, shrimp, 3 kinds of homemade bread, homemade hummus, veggies and dip, chicken strips, and 2 kinds of desserts. That was a lot of food for 12 people! I only stayed until 9:00 because I had to work, but the rest stayed several more hours. It was a good class and time together.

Our daughter has a nasty virus on top of being pregnant so that's why Colton spent the night. We're waiting to see how she feels today because she is supposed to have a sonogram this afternoon and find out the sex of the baby, then let us grandparents know tonight. If she isn't feeling well, that might have to go on hold.

Colton and I have been up since before 5:00. We just finished watching A Very Goofy Movie on Netflix and now he's watching Veggie Tales. He is such a good kid and a joy to have around. Right now he's sitting beside me on the sofa's console with his feet in the cup holders and his head on my shoulder. I sure do love having him around. My only wish is that we'd have had this kind of time and relationship with our other grands.

I am hoping that once we get home from the bank I can get at some household chores. As always there is a ton of laundry needing to be done, the sweeping and dusting needs done, and the kitchen needs a little help after Tim and Colton being here alone yesterday.

Whatever the day holds, it will be a good one and I hope you have a blessed and wonderful Monday!

Listening to...Veggie Tales on Netflix with Colton.

Loving...Colton time! Can a Nanny ever get too much snuggle time?

Thinking...that life is pretty darn good right now.

Feeling...happy, content....and okay, maybe a little tired.

Celebrating...finding out the gender of our next grandchild today...depending on how Momma is feeling.

Grateful for...EVERYTHING!

Weather...in the 20's and cloudy but no more snow today.

Enjoying...watching Colton play and use his imagination. He is content to amuse himself...both of my kids wanted my constant attention or someone else to keep them entertained all the time.

    1. She has really had a rough time. She says this is the last one. I think that's a good decision.

    2. Yay! A little sister!

Colton - just a word of advice on women - the pink 'n' girly princess torment-my-older-sibling stage typically lasts FOREVER! At least it has in my case.

Good luck, buddy! We're pulling for you!
