10 On Tuesday

1. My latest addiction....Skywalk 2 app for android phones. Shows you, based on your location, what stars/planets/satellites/etc. are in the sky. You just point your phone in any direction and it will show you. You can even point it down and see what is in the sky on the other side of the earth! There is a similar app (or probably many) for iPhones, too, but I forget what it's called. (Actually, I just went and looked and Skywalk 2 is available for iPhones, too.)

2. My thumb hurts. I opened a can of corned beef last night to make reuben pockets for supper and cut the whole way across the end of my thumb on the edge of the can. I'm such a klutz.

3. Of all the things Tim got from his father, the ability to become seriously offended by the smallest thing and then dish out the silent treatment for days....is not one I appreciate.

4. Who watches the Oscars? Seriously? Nobody that I've talked to watched them or particularly gave a rip about them. Why do they continue to be such a big deal? Or is Hollywood just delusional?

5. I bought one of those little carts they advertise on TV this weekend. You know, the one with the wheels that are actually made out of three wheels in a triangle. The point of said wheels is that the cart rolls right up stairs with no problem. I am getting old.

6. Colton was very excited about the above cart. He made me get it out of the box and put it together. Then he pulled and pushed it all over the house...sat on it as a chair...used it as a stepladder...stashed his toys in the tote bag...

7. This coming weekend is a working one for me, but it comes with perks this time. A new girl who is just going to work weekends with me is starting and I get to train her. That means I get extra pay! Yay!!

8. I need a haircut, a (professionally done) dye job, and I'm seriously thinking of getting my hair straightened again. Tim is not in favor of me straightening my hair. He likes the curls better. I would like to straighten it at least for the summer so I have it done for the cruise...it would be so much easier to keep it looking nice when out in the wind and/or elements.

9. I don't know what shifted, but for the last couple of weeks work has been great. I feel confident and my bosses have been treating me differently...giving me more say in things, asking my opinion, respecting my take on things and even initiating some of my ideas. I love it!

10. I'm about halfway through Nine Perfect Strangers. I was kind of worried going in as at least two bloggers I read said they did not like it, but I'm enjoying it. The characters are well-developed and I love all the detail. I was hooked early on and there are many layers. Every time I think I have someone figured out, there is a new twist to the character.

  1. Great post! I think it is a man thing to be easily offended! HA! I did not watch the awards...I have zero interest in watching people with unliminted funds gripe about life...HA! I am so glad work is better - what a blessing! Have a fantastic day Stacy!

  2. I usually watch the Oscars but this year I hadn't seen enough of the movies to feel invested in it. I love the celebration of the arts.

I've got Nine Perfect Strangers in my TBR, I'll have to move it up!

  3. We got one of those stair-climbing handcarts a couple of months ago! There are three steps into our house and we buy cases of water, Propel, and diet Pepsi at Sam's Club at least once a month. I can't carry them up steps with my bad knees and Joe can't with his heart issue. The cart has made a huge difference for us!! I haven't watched the Oscars in years. Hollywood is too full of themselves and I don't need to listen to their drivel. Great news about work!! Maybe they heard you interviewed for that other job and realized they didn't want to lose you??

  4. Hollywood is totally delusional. Its why they were so upset the person they wanted for President didnt win - it was like a shock to most entertainment people. World revolves around them in their mind.
Offense... ugh... there's a book about that called the Bait of Satan & how he uses offense to cause so many problems in the world/lives... maybe you should 'accidentally' leave it out ;) haha
