Wednesday Medley

Linking up with Terri for the Wednesday Medley.

1.  On November 28th, 1995, President Bill Clinton ended the 55 MPH nationwide speed limit that began in 1974 as an energy saving measure during the Mid-East oil embargo.  If you are old enough to remember this (I sure am) did it make you happy?  Do you have a heavy foot when driving or does 55 MPH sound good to you?  I remember it, but it didn't make much difference to me unless we were traveling. Pennsylvania stuck to the 55 mph for years. I'm glad the interstates are 65 mph or higher these days.

2.  You are home alone on a rainy/snowy Sunday afternoon.  What Christmas movie will you watch?  I think I covered this in a post last week.

3.  What is something you have tried that you will never try again? Vegemite.

4.  Today is National French Toast Day!!  Will you have some?  Do you like French Toast?  No, not today, but we just had some over the weekend. Tim makes very good French Toast.

5.  The Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center will be lighted today, as will the one at the White House in Washington, D.C.  Do you have your tree up and is it lighted?  Have you ever been in New York City or Washington, D.C. to see the trees all lit up during the holidays?  Yes, my tree is up. I finished decorating it on Friday. No, I haven't been in New York or Washington during Christmas.

6.  Tell us something random about this week of yours.  Today was the first day of total downtime I've had in a while. I watched Christmas movies, made the blog rounds, played some online games, talked to a friend, read. It was heavenly and much needed after yesterday, which was one of those days at work and I did so much running back and forth I'm sure I could have logged 10 miles. I was beat.

  5. Glad you had a relaxing day after the hard one. So important to be able to rest and rejuvenate. Even the name...vegemite sounds awful. (smile) I think we're all going to be craving French Toast this morning. I'm headed to the kitchen now to get a bowl of cereal. :)

  6. LOL-ing on the Vegemite. I think it even looks evil. Say, how are you liking those shoes you purchased for work?

    1. They really didn't help me. I only wore them once and my feet hurt so much I wrote them off. I think my problem was that I slid forward in them and my toes ended up jammed up and man was that miserable. So, I have a worn one time pair of size 10W available for a reduced price if you or anyone else would like them.

  7. I don't know what vegemite is, but I will take your word for it. It's nice to have a day off to do whatever you like and not feel guilty about it.
