10 On Tuesday: Holiday Shopping

Well, we have all survived the high holy days of consumerism...Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In honor of that, I thought I'd share 10 cool things I saw on sale this past weekend.

In no particular order here are 10 things that could change your life...or just make it more fun.

The Kodak Scanza is a gizmo that converts just about any type of old film you might have stored away to JPEG files. I could get a lot of use out of this and it's on sale for $119 at Amazon for another 21 hours.

The Better Homes & Gardens Cube Organizers are a personal favorite. I have two of the 3-cube size. I use one for a coffee table that I don't mind Colton driving his cars on and three canvas bins give plenty of toy storage...handy, yet out of sight. The other sits vertically and linen-lined wire baskets hold all my office supplies. I'm going to get the 8-cube version and x-divider inserts out of my next pay to fashion an entertainment console and wine storage. They are pretty sturdy and come in several colors (the most options are online as opposed to in stores).

The Pioneer Woman is now offering bedding! I love the bright colors and happy prints of all her stuff and now she's coming out of the kitchen.

Want to teach a child in your life how to cook or encourage one who is showing an interest in the kitchen? Then The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs by America's Test Kitchen Kids is the gift you're looking for. It's chock full of kid tested and approved recipes for every skill level. Plus, the Test Kitchen kids share their stories and the Barnes & Noble edition includes exclusive kitchen tips.

The Atlas Obscura Explorer's Guide for the World's Most Adventurous Kid is another great gift for the kids on your list from Barnes & Noble.  It's an illustrated guide to more than 150 of the world's most mesmerizing and mysterious wonders. I've already ordered this one.

Oh, and since you're spending money at Barnes & Noble, anyway....they are offering this adorable plush Grinch for just $12.99 with the purchase of just one qualifying item.

Yankee Candles is offering a great deal on their large candles. Buy 1 and get 1 free. Buy 2 candles and get 2 free. Buy 3 candles and get 3 free. It's a great time to stock up for gift giving or just to beef up your own supply of these great smelling candles.

Bed, Bath & Beyond offers this exclusive Crock Pot. It has three nesting crocks so you're ready for any recipe. There is a 6-qt. crock, a 4-qt. crock, and a 2.5-qt. crock that is divided into two 1.25-qt. crocks (perfect for warmed dips!).

Next up, a little tongue-in-cheek gift we can give ourselves. This mug is a basic 11 ounce size and is sturdy enough for everyday use. Pour you wine in it and everyone will think you're drinking coffee!

Last, but not least, is my favorite addiction...the Happy Planner. If you haven't seen these, you owe it to yourself to look into them. They are a great way to get organized, but also a fun, creative outlet. There are so many different planner styles and there are planners for moms, for students, for fitness tracking, for recipes, for holiday planning, etc. Then there are all the stickers and other accessories to customize the look. There are thousands of pins to check out on Pinterest. There are groups on Facebook. There are YouTube videos. Joann Fabrics is offering some versions for $12.49 which is half off the regular price!
