Our youngest grandson is spending the night. (While Mom and Dad are at a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert...when did I get old enough to be the babysitter instead of the one at the concert???) Anyway, I got him to go to sleep at the perfectly reasonable hour of 10:00 so I thought I'd better get to my Sunday Stealing post now, because I'm sure he'll be up bright and early and I'm not sure when he's going home.
Stolen from Phoenix, the Blogging Mama, which is now a private blog, unfortunately. That's a shame, but thanks for finding the questions for us, Bev. We appreciate your time and efforts.
1. How has your life most benefited from the Internet? Whether it’s meeting people, cutting business overhead, finding rare collectibles, or simply sharing funny cat pictures, share how the web has made life easier.
It's definitely made shopping easier. I love being able to sit in my living room and virtually have all the world has to offer at my fingertips. With the click of the mouse (and an Amazon Prime membership) I can have just about anything delivered to my doorstep. I even do my grocery shopping online once in a while. I order on Walmart's site and then all I have to do is pull up to the door and they bring my order out and put it in the car. I can't wait until they start delivering. We've also discovered that if we order takeout online, it gets delivered faster than if we call the restaurant.
I don't know that it's made life easier in any other way, but I think it's added a lot of good things...we just have to be wary of the bad. I've made friends all over the world that I'd never have known otherwise. Online friends can be huge cheerleaders when you need it and it's a nice boost to get so many "Happy Birthdays." They rally around you in times of need, too.
I know there are a lot of pitfalls to the online world, but if we're on guard, I think it can be a real blessing. I could give it up if I had to, but I probably wouldn't be happy about it. Not at all.

2. The getaway car is waiting outside – where is it taking you?
I don't really care as long as it is somewhere. Away from here. I haven't been on a real vacation for a couple of years. I'm way over due.
3. Do you reply to comments on your blog? All of them? Or just the really interesting ones? Do you go back to check if the authors or the blogs you comment on reply to your comments?
I do respond to most comments unless it's just a really short, generic comment that there's really no response for. Most blogs have an option to be notified about responses, but if they don't, I'll go back if I wrote something I think they might comment on.
4. On average, how long does it take you to make an important decision?
Probably not as long as it should. I have a tendency to go with my "gut."
5. Do you gather a lot of information prior to making the decision, or do you go with your gut in the heat of the moment?
Oops, I just answered that. I go with my gut. Most of the time my instincts are pretty good.
6. What’s the most important thing you’ve learned recently?
I've learned to stop worrying about the kids' dumber decisions. They have to live their own lives and they have to sink or swim based on those decisions. It really doesn't have anything to do with me, nor is it my problem. I'm actually applying that thinking to pretty much everyone. It has been so freeing!
7. What’s your hidden talent? Are you double-jointed? Can you sneeze the alphabet? Share your unique skill.
I attract old men at the grocery store. Seriously, I could be in an aisle crowded with people and the old guy with a question will hone in on me. My daughter always says it's like I have a flashing neon sign on my forehead. My pastor once said it's because I give off a "vibe" that says I'm safe, friendly, and caring. Well, shucks....
8. Rate the level of intensity you have about wanting to know God – no desire, low priority, curious, great desire, high priority, desperate to learn more. Explain your answer.
I don't think I'm desperate, but I'm always learning and growing closer to God. If I wasn't, my faith would be stagnate or dead. I spend time in study every day.
9. What’s one of your nicknames? How did you get that nickname?
Ace. I don't know where he got it, but it came from my husband.
10. What do you have to have with you when you travel? Why?
I always have a tote with books, magazines, and my laptop. Why? Because I'm usually with my husband and we have different sleep schedules and I usually have a good bit of time to kill.
11. What do you think about reading books on an electronic reading device? Do you have an electronic reading device? Do you love it? Why? If you don’t love it, why not?
If you enjoy it, go for it. I have a NOOK and I'm not really into it. I would rather have a physical book in my hands.
12. Do you prefer writing on paper or a keyboard? Why?
It doesn't really matter, but I would consider a real, live, hand-written letter a miracle to be treasured.
13. If the shoes make the man (or woman), what do your shoes say about you right now? (Assuming you’re wearing shoes. Although if you’re not, that certainly says something, too.)
I just bought a pretty pricey pair of shoes that are supposed to eliminate foot pain. I call them my frankenstein shoes because of the thick soles. II guess they look okay, but a bit odd.
That's them. They're actually called Gravity Defyers. |
14. Describe your favorite pair of shoes.
My Sketchers Go Walk slip on sandals. They have that nice cushy Go Walk sole and two fabric strips that cross each other across the top of my foot They are navy blue with a little white and strips of a tropical blue and green material.
15. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one ability or quality, what would it be?
To make life better for those who need it.
BONUS: When they "cool sculpt" your body, where does the fat go?
I have no idea what that is, so I really have no idea where it goes.

I was at a loss on the Bonus, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers!
At a loss and too lazy to look it up last night. I'm hoping someone else explains it in their answer....still feeling pretty lazy. lol
DeleteI am learning today that you all reply to comments! I tried to do that one week and I was doing it on my phone app and my comments were all out of order when I looked online and it didn't make any sense. I will do better. You are also the second person to mention Sketchers slip ons! I want to try them. I have a hard time finding shoes that fit my feet right and that are comfortable. Have a nice day!

You do fine with comments!
DeleteAs for the Sketchers, I love my sandals, but have never liked Sketchers sneakers at all. I have weird feet and they don't fit me right.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
Look at me responding back! WOO HOO! I have weird feet too, my feet are like Flintstone feet....not even kidding. So my feet are wide and my instep is high. Nothing is comfortable. Seems like I have tried the Sketchers sneakers too and was not able to wear them, but I want to look into the slip ons. :)
DeleteYou might try the Apex shoes I am wearing, Stacy. Expensive but worth it. I get them locally occasionally but have taken to ordering them online unless they change the style or something and I need to see if they still fit.
ReplyDeleteI'll look for those next if these don't work, because my new job will have me on my feet and on the go most of the day. If I don't find good shoes I'm going to be in a world of pain.
Delete#12 is so spot-on! When we left Arizona, one of my co-workers handed me a 3-page hand-written letter recapping some of the good (and not-so-good) times. I can't describe how much that meant!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out-loud at #7!
I can imagine! I wish letter writing wasn't one of the skills our society had lost.
Delete#7, yes, we joke about it, but there have been times when it got very annoying...especially when I worked as a cashier in the express lane. It wasn't very expressy when the older fellows would tell me their big long rambling stories. There were a few that came several times a day and only bought one thing at a time and came to my register. Management always wanted me to get them moving, but how do you tell some lonely old man to cut his story off and get going?
Gosh, I must have dropped that last question when I copied to paste. Good one though! Comfort is always what I look for in shoes. Always. I don't care when they look like, actually. I think your new sneakers are pretty nice... not Frankenstein-ish at all!!
ReplyDeleteNo, they aren't too bad looking. I just joke because the sole is pretty thick. And yes, I am at an, or in enough pain, that I don't really care much what they look like as long as they feel good.
DeleteI really have no idea what Cool Sculpting can be, either. But I know they advertise it a lot here in the Austin area. Maybe I need it and just don't know it!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that's what they're banking on!
DeleteThat is a remarkable special talent you have there!
ReplyDeleteThose are unusual colors for your Sketchers. Cool.
