Feeling Thankful in August

Linking up with the sweet Rebecca Jo @ Knit By God's Hand for the first Thankful Thursday of August.  August!!  How can that be?  In just 3 1/2 weeks I'll be back to work.  Noooooooooo!

This week I am thankful...

* for huge book sales and a box of "new" books to keep me busy.

* for the slow but steady checking off of things needing done for the wedding.

* for having not gotten the "bug" the rest of the family has had.

* for a fun evening out with some high school classmates.  Good Italian food and another classmate providing the music.

* for another excellent discussion at Bible study and for the group of people the Lord brought together....the closeness and level of trust among us never ceases to amaze me.  I have been in groups where you couldn't share your true needs, but with this group everyone knows we can and it will stay in the group and there will be no judgement.

* that my hubby actually stayed awake until I got home last night just to see me for 5 minutes....our only time together all day.

* for the raised garden beds that are so much easier on my back...and for the veggies that are really rolling in.  I just wish those darn tomatoes would hurry up and get ripe!

* for air conditioning (again) because the heat is on the rise again.

* as always, for all of you!

  1. There really is nothing like a group of praying friends that can just encourage you & give you a sense of community & friendship.
You sound like me & Ricky - we are always like 2 ships passing in the night. He goes to sleep like at 7:30 ... after I get home, work out & make dinner, I see him for about an hour a day. Hate that.
A bug?!?!?!? Yikes.I'd move out until it passed ;) haha

    1. 2 ships passing in the night....that pretty much describes us. He told me last night there is a chance they will get a project not far from us at some point in the future. Oh, I am praying!

  2. I loved reading your list, Stacy! I'm anxious to join in the Bible study group here in our community. They will start again in a couple of months. Nice of your hubby to wait up for you. Sweetness!!

    1. I'm glad your community has a Bible study group. I wish my neighborhood had one, but honestly? I don't think there are too many believers in my neighborhood. :(

    1. It is the best to have those friends! Yes, so much off my mind every time I can cross off another wedding to-do.
