Thankful Thursday: God Blessed America

It's July 4th and I have to work today, but I can't skip sharing a little thankfulness. Thanks to Rebecca Jo @ Knit By God's Hand for always hosting our little get together! I'm not sure she will be posting today, but just in case...

This week I am thankful...

** to have been born a citizen of the United States of America. Do you realize that this is the only country, other than Israel, founded on the principles of God? For all of our problems, this country is still the best place to live. Why do you think so much of the rest of the world is trying to get here?

** for God's grace, mercy, patience, and love. We enjoyed His favor for so long and though I believe He has withdrawn much of it, He has not dealt out what we, as a society, so richly deserve as we remove Him from everything and deny His existence.

** for God's creative nature. Just look around at this world....the incredible diversity, the awe-inspiring beauty, the way all things are connected and work together. Did you ever stop to think how complex it all is? The odds of it all happening randomly are astronomical. My faith is in divine design.

** beyond words for all that I have because I am a U.S. citizen. Including the right to view the internet freely and post freely about my faith. Things that could get me into deep trouble in other parts of the world.

** for all of you! Please, be safe today and enjoy your families, friends, and picnics...and don't forget to be thankful for all you enjoy as a U.S. citizen!

  3. Living in this country, there is SOOO much to be thankful for - even if people really enjoy complaining about our country lately
