What is your claim to fame? Eh, I'm not sure I have any "fame." I tend to be the family cookie baker, I write and journal, and I read/collect books. I'd guess those are what I'm most known for.
What is something you like to do the old-fashioned way? Talk on the phone. I loathe texting.
What did you think you would grow out of but haven’t? Biting my nails (but only under stress), watching cartoons...especially the holiday ones, laughing when the ketchup "farts." I could go on and on.
What is the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well? Quitting college to get married. We'll be marking 34 years this month!
If you had to change your name, what would you change it to? I'm okay with the name I've got, but if I had to.....I think I'd go for something really out there like, maybe...Serendipity! LOL
What is something random you can tell us about this week? Tim saw the doctor on Monday and while the news isn't great, it does look like maybe we are finally onto some answers for the extreme exhaustion and random aches and pains that have been keeping him (and me) from having much of a life the last 6 or 7 years. We will know for sure, I guess, after he sees a couple of specialists but blood work indicates that he almost definitely has hyperparathyroid disease and possibly Lupus. Both cause pretty much all of the symptoms he's been experiencing and that he may have both...well, he didn't stand a chance of living normally. Please keep it and him in prayer. He meets with one specialist next week. The second, we have to find another as the one he was referred to doesn't take our insurance.
Totally praying for Tim! I know answers may be tough but at least you know what you're dealing with & can try to help it!!!!
ReplyDeleteSerendipity - that's funny!
My husband still watches cartoons every night. He literally just added some sort of old cartoon network onto our Amazon prime so he can watch the oldies every day.
Yea! I love me some Looney Tunes! Ricky has good taste. :)
DeleteThank you for the prayers.

ReplyDelete:-D ...More people should do this!
Well, maybe not the quitting college part, but the staying married for the long haul thing for sure!
DeleteTotally about texting! My fingers are so darn wide, and I can't stop myself from using the correct punctuation. Little doubt, my grand-girls just shake their heads.
ReplyDeleteChuckling about 'Serendipity' … one of the prettiest girls in high school was named Stacy. I think everyone wanted to be a Stacy!
I'm always getting yelled at for using too many words, spelling things right, and using punctuation. I've got a writing background...what do they expect???
DeleteEveryone wanted to be a Stacy? Really? I've never run into that. When I was in school everyone wanted to be Marcia (Brady) or Heather.
You are cracking me up with your things you did not outgrow!! I love them all - this would be an example of why I would love to meet and hang out with my blog friends! You would be a joy to spend time with! Plus you are known for baking cookies?!?! - WIN WIN! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWe could have cookies and squirt Heinz ketchup on our fries and laugh when it farts! LOL
DeleteHA HA HA HA!
DeleteEnjoyed your answers to the medley. Why didn't I think about talking on the phone over texting? Sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. Praying as I type that he'll get solid answers and some good treatment.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ellen!
DeleteI will be praying for your husband. I have hypothyroidism. I started taking medicine over the summer and it has helped. I loved your answers! Have a nice week!

Thanks, Lori! Our PCP seems to think he will probably end up having to have 3 of the 4 parathyroid lobes (?) removed. Then I don't know if he'll have to take some kind of medication forever or not.
DeleteI am praying for Tim. Do please keep us posted! Thanks so much for joining in the Medley today!! I'm happy folks are enjoying it. Just hope I can keep fining interesting questions. Cookies... yum!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terri! I do enjoy the questions each week. You find some good ones..and not the same old tired ones.
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your husband but hopeful the meds will help him feel much better. Congratulations on 34 years of marriage. I did the same thing as you and we celebrated 53 years in Sept. Thankfully, Hubby had a masters degree. LOL!
